Since only the shortstack shows aggression on the flop I figure that if ANYONE has the nut flush draw it is him, so I decide to put him in so I can build a side pot if I hit. I'm also thinking that since I'm holding 4 spades my straight should hold up very often if it does hit. Am I being an overaggressive card catching muppet here? I tried to apply some "Advanced Concepts(tm)"...

I like the play, you have a big wrap, but probably the last thing you want to see here is a spade, you are rooting to hit your straight more than the flush.

Of course, that hand is a preflop fold most of the time regardless. You don't want to get in the habit of drawing to non nut flushes when you have 2 fewer outs than normal.

i kinda like it. You have a good draw (don't discount someone else other than the shortie with the nut flush draw) and getting so many people trapped in the hand isn't bad. Get that money in.
