Hey, this game is great! Man, I'm loving it.

I realize now that a flopped nut straight is not likely to hold up against 2 callers, no matter how badly they play. Pretty funny that 5 coming on the river made both of their hands better than mine coming from behind. I'm also understanding that you may die by the river far more often than in HE.

Having position and all 4 cards working for you is the best place to be, right? I doubled up on AA with an A on the flop after limping in the SB. I have done very well since, today, and am really starting to get the hang of it. Aggression seems to be even more important than in HE, esp on a passive table. I just flopped a set of Ks against a 3 flush board and ran 'em out. Neat. Too bad the table crumbled afterward.

I hope I really am getting it. There seems to be a lot of interesting stuff going on that I'm picking up on a lot faster than I did with HE, although I guess all that HE experience helps. Plus I'm playing the $25PLO, which is incredibly weak.

Came away with 5 buy ins today. Even though I got lucky a lot, I must have been doing something right. At least I didn't do anything stupid. I got them to do things stupid. Didn't lose much money at all when the river was good to them and not to me.

This is a hard game to learn, but fortunately it seems hard for everyone.

Yeah obviously those are rare. Still, my point is that you rarely see a huge pot won with a straight. A comewhat common scenario seem to be when two nut straights get it all-in before the river and one of them is freerolling with a flushdraw or boat draw. Of course sometimes both have redraws, but to a novice like me it seems that one of the main thing that seperates the fish from the players is that fish can't get away from the current nuts.

The big thing I'm seeing is guys playing out of position. With position, you can control the pot, play hands that you'd have to throw out with people behind you, and build it up when you have the goods. I'm reading advice that says it's a game of big hands and you have to fold more than you do in HE. Maybe at the highest levels, but down here in the cheap seats, position is king. That and being aggressive.

There are a lot more bad players than in HE.
