Considering the best you can hope for is that he has the str8 and zero spades, and even then you are a 2:1 dog it's a reasonable fold.

Some will argue to raise this preflop to try and push out a hand like 89xx from the bb, but in EP this is not an ideal raising hand, IMO.

This one is real close, and I can't really put the BB on a hand. Do you have any reads on him? The only hands that I can think of that the J helps is 89 or a high wrap but unless he is a total donk both hands will fold the flop. If you were OOP I would fold without hesitation. IP I would rely on my read of the BB so I knew what my implied odds are and how likely BB is to have another A2.

Looks way too high variance for my liking. Playing $300 hands of blackjack is pretty high variance too and I'm not terribly interested in that, so this looks like a totally reasonable fold.

TomG has a point. Just because there will be better +EV situations down the road doesn't mean you should give up on smaller +EV situations now. In fact, if we allow for metagame, by accepting the marginal +EV situations here you will get more of the good situations later since you're creating more of an action image.

Still, I like low variance. I won't take a 51% edge for any real sum. I don't like gambling and would rather have 10 small wins make up $100 than two big wins and a big loss.
