Like the last hand kvanvel2 is a total LAG that could be betting here with anything and KR_Poker is tight. Obviously I am not folding, OOP do you raise or call here?

I agree hero should raise the maximum. However, it is noteworthy that the stacks are pretty deep here. This could make for some tricky turn decisions if say the board pairs, a high offsuit card comes, we get counterfeited, or we make our 2nd low without a high. So I think the story is far from over after this decision...

JD, I see your Twodimes numbers and they are about what I would have expected. However, the reason I didn't raise this hand was because of implied odds. With a single stack I make the easy push and I am pot committed. With double stacks I am going to have to make a really difficult turn decision when I don't know what cards I really want to see. With double stacks and a $4 pot implied odds are more important then PO and I am OOP so I will not be able to control the pot. Also my opponent is a manic so most likely he will pay me off when I hit, so why not keep the pot manageable so I can get away cheap if I miss.

I don't know, I think you need to semi bluff this one. If a heart comes I think you are not going to be as paid off as you think. Don't forget, you can pound a scare card just as well as he can.

If you raise and the board pairs he will have to fold unless he has a set. But if you just check call (assuming he bet), then the board pairs you will have a hard time convincing him that you had a set and played it slow on the flop, since no one in their right mind would.

If you checkraise the flop and he comes back at you then you have odds to see the turn and can bail if it's ugly. If he just calls your checkraise you still might be able to see a free river since he may well check behind you on the turn.
