Given your description, I like it. If you're ahead now just about the worst realistic scenario is that you're giving him a free card to a 2-outer.

Against overaggressive dumb player, I make the same play. I classify someone as dumb if they dont stop the bluff when someone throws up the red flag (call the flop). If they are willing to keep betting, then let them.
If they are smart and will play cautiously after a "warning call", then I would hit the pot then and not let them have a shot to hit a draw or backdoor draw.
