A lot of of opportunity cost there... wtf?!? That's a big pot that I lost because you guys think it's a janky hand.

i almost played this out of spite, hoping a board like this would come. i think we should call 2367 "The Kuso" and play it with pride.

thoughts?

c'mon... be creative... what's a janky-looking starting hand that has nut potential that you play?

i think we can safely call 789Tr "The Monk" when playing O8. I'm sure there are some good ones that he likes to jam with pf in Omaha high that... well... are less than optimal. someone care to search the archives?

How about KKQQ being "The Briacheck"... given that you are the king of queens... at least that's what MVP and MK told me.

Or maybe some hand like AAAXss... janky but has potential. But what could X be? Has to be funny.

I like the Kuso, but it's definitely a late position kinda hand.

Does the Kuso have to be 2367, or is it any 23xx hand with the xx being low qualifiiers? This way you could have the regular Kuso - 2367, and the King Kuso - 2345ds.

Just imagine the conversation at the 2009 WSOP Omaha 8 event (well, if they actually have one still by then):

Layne Flack: Hey, Daniel, how'd ya do?
Daniel Negreanu: I'm out, horrible beat got laid on me and I couldn't recover.
LF: Really? What happened?
DN: Well, I had been raising and stealing a lot of pots when I finally got a monster - AA24ds.
LF: Nice, don't you love it when that laggy play gets everyone on edge, then you look down at a hand like that?
DN: Yeah, usually, but not this time.
LF: Oh......missed the flop?
DN: Hell no, got one caller and flopped a set.
LF: Sweet! Uhh...you got an extra beer by any chance?
DN: Sorry, only vegan beer.
LF: Bummer, oh well, continue with this, I gotta know what happened.
DN: Yeah, so the flop comes A46 with 2 of my suit and I check to try and get this donk to bet out at me.
LF: Sure, I can dig that. Man, I'm really thirsty. Go on.
DN: So he jumps out of his seat when the flop came, and I figure I have him set over set. He bets, I raise, he comes over the top and we're all in before the turn.
LF: Of course, I mean, at this point you should have nothing to fear at all. Except...........
DN: Yeah, that's right, you guessed it. He dropped a Kuso on me. 5 came on the turn and he scooped it. I need some tofu.
LF: Ugh, I hate when they Kuso me. It's like a knife through the heart, or, well, like maybe a letter opener in the pancreas. Something sharp and painful.
DN: I don't know what's going on lately, but I've been Kusoed more times than I care to remember. Want a bean sprout?

In his article , Cappelletti suggests that "2-3 is a very nice holding if an ace hits the board" (he played 236J with clubs). Granted he was playing limit and was in a family pot, but I am not sure that this idea does not have it's merits in certain contexts.

Anyway, I usually like to have 23 with another wheel card and hopefully some kind of suitedness or another lowish card (for str8 potential). I almost always dump it to pf heat or if no A appears on the flop. Post-flop play needs to be solid without the A.

For example, in I discuss flopping a boat with The Kuso. Of course, I played this janky hand OOP out of frustration after being card dead, but why not? I also screwed the pooch with my pf play, but I'm still learning.

As for my stats, I have too much noise to have good data. Drunk sessions (in which any 23 looked good) and early sessions when I was learning still skew the data. It's VERY easy for a few bad beats or bonehead plays to really skew the data. I think you easily need 100k+ hands of quality play to really be able to say for sure. I don't have that in my DB yet.

As for the names... I personally think "The Kuso" should be the 2367 due to the thread linked above. The King Kuso of 2345 also strikes my fancy. What can we use as "The Goop"?

I'm really starting to think that KKQQ should be "The Chek" and AAA2ss "The Chekhater". 26TK should be "The Xaston", as it should always be folded pf (does he ever say anything other than that on these boards?).

The commentary with DN and LF really cracked me up... I can only dream. Nice one.

BTW, if you haven't done it already, I recommend that you read some FCP posts on The Krablar. Some of them are hilarious.
