My thought is that if I am HU and I know that I have a made low and my opponent may have something as weak as the naked pair he has showing, why shouldent I be pushing this. It seems that the payoff from someone folding once will outweigh any additional rake I end up paying.

I have to agree with briachek for the most part. Hand 1, where there was no aggressor on 6th street, if I were him I have to call 100% of the time. Contributed to the rake. Hand 2, where you show 4 cards to the straight, and have been aggressive on 5th and 6th, a bet might get him to lay down.

With some (typically bad) low limit players, there is an unwritten etiquette that says do not bet if you have the made low and cannot beat the high showing, specifically because of the rake. I have found this especially true in B&M games. If you find yourself in this situation, and you play along a couple of times, the steal attempt in hand 1 might just work.

I suppose its a side effect of playing low limit/bad players.

Its this strange phenomenon where I think other people should fold in situations where I would fold.

Oh well. Guess I should just play abc until I can move up.
