I guess my question is how do you play a concealed premium pair with a crap door card?

i raise it up on third. him pairing his door card is scary but hes so short that i'll take the chance he's just a big donk and get him all in. If he had more, it would change it up but no way am i slowplaying AA even if its concealed.

Like brian said, you have to raise on 3rd. Basically what it comes down to is if the hand you are likely to end up with will beat some other likely hand. You cannot count on boating with your aces, so you will usually end up with 2 pair (or a set). Therefore you dont want to let someone who is likely to be drawing to a better hand than yours to get in cheaply. For example, bilapa could very easily be drawing to a better hand than your 2 pair or set. In the above instance it is less likely, as a bunch of his clubs/low straight cards are out (3 clubs, 2 4s, 2 aces, 2 7s and a 6), but if everyone else were rolling high cards, you would not want to allow him to draw to a low straight/flush. If he is rolling 3 clubs to start, you want to at least make him think about dumping them by raising. If you do not, he will probably have the correct odds to draw to his flush for the rest of his hand if he catches good on 4th (which he did not, because almost no one will dump 4 flushes with only 1 pair and several other relativly harmless boards up, nor should they). And even with 3 clubs out, he is probably getting good enough odds (even if he does not understand the idea) to take it to 7th street because his hand will likely win if he makes it. Notice that if that is the case (if he did have 4 clubs), he most likely has 5 outs 3 times at 4th street, which is really not all that bad. And this is not counting any odd straight, set, 2 pair redraws (any of which can concievably beat you).

I agree with all the replies. I think of Chip Reese in SS1 your goal is to elimanate players with a premium pair.
