I was in a taxi the other day, and the driver was telling me he used to play Kalooki for money at underground card rooms many years ago (in London).

What the hell is Kalooki? He said it was a bit like Canasta.

Yeah, I've vaguely heard of it, I read that it's quite popular in prisons, the reason that was mentioned was that it's quite a drawn out game, obviously suitable for the criminally retired. I've seen that some of the casinos up north have it as a cash game after tourneys. Found this website that has the rules
