I usually play $100NL, but for a bonus I go down to $25NL (why pay more rake). I think that's a mistake as I generally find the play so bad that I feel infected by it.
Basic Example (I won't even go into fancy plays here)-- I have AA and raise 4xbb in LP, previous limper min raises, I reraise huge and limper calls. I'll be all in on the flop. I have announced I have a big pair. Flop is K 5 2 and I push only fearing KKK. Villain calls with... TT. Huh? He of course hits his T on the river.
Similar play--- I have A[c] A[d] and raise pf x5 bb and get 1 caller. Flop is K[c] T[c] K[d]. He bets 1/3 of the pot I raise to pot and he calls. Okay he has AK or maybe KQ. I'm behind. Turn is 5[c]. He min bets I call. River 2[c] giving me A high flush. He min bets, I raise he calls with.... K[h] T[s]. Yep it was the only hand the logically beats me and he called a x5bb pfr with KTo. This kinda play just ruins my game. I start making dumb moves and start second guessing made hands.
Another play. I limp in BB with K9. 5 others limp and see the flop. Flop is Q-9-9. Not bad. I limp intending to CR. All checks (darn). Turn is a K giving me a little boat. I bet 1/2 pot and the button is the only caller. River is a 10. I bet the pot and get min raised. Hmm, okay maybe he hit his straight. I push and he calls with.... QQ. Yep, he limped on the button with QQ with 4 people in the hand. Then he checks the flop and only calls a turn bet with the nuts? Impossible to read this kind of play.
