A friend of mine is trying to tell me that this happened and I'm having a hard time believing him. He's not a liar at all, but I really can't fathom this happening. I've never played 1/2 on a weekend at the Borgata though so I can't say for sure. Maybe someone who has can tell me if this is the norm.......
My friend is a very tight player. I wouldn't necessarily say great, but he knows that which is why he tries to play ultra tight to compensate. If he's betting/calling post-flop he has a big hand. He said he had been at the table a little less than an hour and was on fire. He had been pushing around the table because he'd been getting awesome cards, but hasn't had to show down once which probably gave the rest of the table a different image of him than I know to be true. Then the following hand came up when he had a little more than $1K sitting in front of him.
Player 1 -
[xd] (didn't tell me the other card) raised to $20. My friend re-raised to $200
[Qd] (he had to explain this to me 3x before I could comprehend this preflop raise), then he gets 2 CALLERS!!! This REALLY blew me away and we spent about 10 minutes on me trying to understand that 2 players flat called $200 preflop.
Anyway all 3 were all-in by either the flop or the turn (I'm still trying to understand the $200 preflop raise and calls in a 1/2 game). My friend had the A-hi flush, other guy had the K-hi flush, 3rd guy had a set of 2's. 4th 2 hit on the river.
My question is.......do people at these Borgata 1/2 games generally call $200 preflop with Kxs and pocket 2's or is everyone else as blown away as I am.
