That'd be one hell of a snazzy feature. I like. However, the hands shown down would really depend on the board though too ... maybe keeping on with old-fashioned notes would work just as well.

well if you play several tables you can't keep notes on all players can you?
I'm thinking about implementing something like this... but it's actually only necessary if there isn't already something like it and you guys are really interested in it.
Are you using microsoft access databases or SQL?
Which SQL databases are commonly used? MySQL is possible too?
