the donks made me play bad too.. I called a guy (no read) down with AJ on a A high board, he showed down AK ofcourse. With the ace rag players I thought it might be good.

So now im playing tighter preflop I play sLAG normally, but this style doesn't work well on tribeca, just very ABC tight aggressive, almost no bluffs

I really hate the fact that they don't show mucked losing hands.

I know I took a big risk reraising like that for value, but I didnt feel like he had a set of 88's and filled up on the turn, he could have K6 but I didnt believe that either. So I reraised kinda big (wanted to reraise the pot, but I messed up) but he called anyway.

I still always CB after a PFR. Always.

If you PFR JJ and the flop comes Kxx, you can't just check/fold for crying out loud.

And yes, they do fold regularly. Not as often as they should. But they definitely don't call so often that you have to throw the CB out of your repertoire!

Set-miner, disagree. You're losing out on a lot of EV. These players are bad on every street.

Here's my big hand from yesterday. I am in the BB with [4s] and decide to call a minraise from an MP player. Typical 5-6 to the flop and the flop is A44 rainbow. I am excited and decide to lead into the raiser for about 3/4 pot. He flat calls, another guy calls, everybody else folds. Turn is a blank but puts two hearts on the board, I lead again, the preflop raiser minraises, the other guy calls AGAIN, I push, and they both call.

Other dude: Kx with two hearts

Seriously. They have about 9 outs between them and don't hit, and I triple up. And yes, the one guy called the flop bet with king high, no overcards, and no draw except the runner runner flush.

I had trips, yes, but IMO this is not "set mining." If I played ubertight or scared of variance I wouldn't even have been in the hand. I was behind AA and actually was scared of it on the turn but at this site you have to push your hands.

You read that properly - I push with a Royal Flush, and he calls off the rest of his stack with a pair of Kings-no kicker...

Well...you are playing .02/.04 so there could be lots going on besides him being retarded...he may just not care, or really not know.

Gawd, last night was suckout night for me. AK vs AJ (all in on flop, he runner-runnered a straight), AA vs 32o (he called a 7x raise too! flop 227), among others.

Yeah that place is eating me alive. I am down about 5 buyins at $100 NL in about 4000 hands. I know it is variance and I should get some back at some point, but jesus christ.

If it hasn't paid out, try contacting a manager and asking them about it. They say it takes a couple of days but if you put some pressure on them you can get it within minutes.

I have just over 3000 hands now at Tribeca ($100 and $200 6 max tables) and am +8.5PT/100 overall - this is a lot better than it looks as my AA has been cracked a full 40% of the time there and I have a total of +$14 from all my pairs as a result!

So set mining wouldn't have been anywhere near as profitable as normal play for me.

That said the knowledge that you can breakeven on all pairs and still make almost double digit PTBB/100 gives you a good indication of how bad the Tribeca players are (oh and the bonuses aren't bad either
