Has ANYONE ever heard of a ski trip being cut short because it snowed?!!!!!!!

I just had it happen to me.

It's frickin Spring and the ski resorts are winding down and most around here are going to close by mid-April. So the place we go to today, which already had 150" at the base lodge and like 250" at the top gets hammered with a huge storm that doesn't stop until after we leave! Hell, it's probably still going!!!!

Was fun while it lasted though. For the first hour we were the ONLY people there skiing other than the ski patrol. Then the storm began and just kept getting worse and worse til it was hard to see anymore. We said fuggit and left for home. This was actually fine by me since the bed in the hotel last night was as hard as a sheet covered piece of plywood. My frickin lower back STILL hurts! I couldn't believe that a hotel as nice as this was, had beds that hard!!!! Nothing super fancy but nicer than Super 8 or Motel 6. But my god, spend a dime or 2 on some actual mattresses and you might get a repeat customer every now and then! It's no wonder the town only has 268 people living there, they haven't got a damned mattress!!!

Awe well, guess I'll just have to play poker now instead of ski. But I think we may go up to the local ski area in a day or 2 and try it again before Spring Break is over. Maybe I'll break my leg and have a decent excuse to call in sick Monday.

This is something I have never understood. Why do something that you dont like? I cant imagine putting myself in a position where I would rather break my leg than go to work.

So much for coming back from skiing early and playing poker. Played a $10+1 5 table SnG at Full Tilt with a friend of mine from the P.O., he got aces cracked and went out in like 40th or something and I went out in 27th. Oh well. Was my first Multi Table SnG ever so I'm batting 0.000 in them now.

Todays Stats:

Full Tilt Poker $10+1 45 seat SnG, 45 hands, 42 minutes, -$11.00

Finally finished up the PokerRoom bonus today. Once I switched to 3/6 Limit Hold'em, the points just flew by. Started the day out with like ~750 points I think and with 2 sessions of multitabling, I had finished up the 2nd half of the bonus! I thought I was done with that damned site but now while doing my cashout, I find out I am qualified for some kind of WSOP Qualifier SnG or something. That's Friday night at 7:30 p.m., so I guess I have to spend a little bit more time there afterall. I normally wouldn't bother, but it is free and DAMMIT, I earned it. Of course I will win this and you guys will all get to watch me on tv this year, so thats probably a good thing. :D Now then, anyone care to give me a clue as to HOW to go about winning this thing? Let's see, if I remember right, I will need like 6 player accounts in the same tourney.......

Todays Stats:

PokerAcesClub NL100, 125 hands, 134 minutes, -$53.25

PokerRoom 3/6 Limit FR, 4 tables, 308 hands, 275 minutes, $72.75
PokerRoom 3/6 Limit FR, 2 tables, 311 hands, 307 minutes, -$61.20

RB: 0
Bonus: $200

Bonus Progress:

Finished off the PokerRoom Bonus for a nice $200 in addition to the $171 I made in profit at that site.

Earned another 366 Action Points at PokerAcesClub. Brings total to 8189 out of 13500 needed to clear the $135 bonus.

Even though I can't really complain about the month as a whole since it was BY FAR my best month ever (up over $1800 for the month), March kinda ended in a "meh" sorta way to quote MVP. I played in that PokerRoom tourney that I got entry into for earning 300 points in one day. Needed to finish in the top 10. That would have won me entry into the $65+5 WSOP qualifier tourney. Unfortunately, out of the 531 folks who entered I only outlasted 508 of them and busted out in 23rd. The hand that hurt the most was when I lost 2/3 of my stack. I had something like AQs in LP and raised it 3xBB, got one caller and hit the Q on the flop. I BTP and got a caller, must be chasin a FD I thought. The flush hit on the turn but I bet 2/3 pot or full pot anyway (I forget which one I did) and he CR'd me. I folded. I didnt want to, but I did. The guy then immediately chats saying "Smart move". I didnt reply but that really pissed me off when he said that. If he did indeed have the flush, then what the fuck does he know about smart when he calls a bet getting 2 to 1 odds when he needs 4 to 1 to make the "smart move". :x
The hand that put me out I had about 8xBB left, ATs on the button, 2 limpers, I pushed. One caller, the guy flips over 96o!!! Of course he catches a 6 on the flop and I don't improve and I'm out. 13 freakin positions before I wanted to be. SHIT!!!!!! :x
I guess y'all won't be seeing me on TV this fall afterall. :(

Made the Empire deposit cuz MVP talked me into doing the bonus. I don't blame him for doing it, it's a good sized one for relatively small # of raked hands so it clears fairly quickly. But DAMN! that rock fest is one BORING place to play. I aint good enough at NL yet to LAG it up amongst 4 tables of rock type bonus whores so my time there is passing quite slow. I will be glad when that one is over. I lost $13.77 while clearing about a third of the $200 bonus. Guess I'm gonna have to be careful not to lose much more because as painful as this bonus is to clear, I want as much of the $200 as possible to ease the pain.

On a brighter note, MVP can't blame me for being unlucky for him anymore as he had a winning day (can you believe it? LOL, ) while chatting with me and even while playing with me for a short time towards the end of the night.

Todays Stats:

Empire Poker NL50, 1 session of 4 tabling, 5 tables total, 990 hands, 823 minutes, -$13.77

RB: 0
Bonus: 0

Bonus Progress:

Cleared 491 raked hands out of the 1400 needed to clear the $200 bonus - 35% complete

April started out with a losing day that actually gets marked in the win column, $ wise. Played exclusively at Empire to get that bonus knocked out. Managed to lose $129 in the process so the bonus ended up only being about $70 instead of the $200 I was hoping for. One full+ stack got wasted when I had AA and ran it into KK who got his 3rd K on the flop and I didnt improve. the neighbors may have heard my cussing on that one. That coupled with a few bad moves on my part and a few suckouts, really ate into the bonus. Oh well, guess I'll try and do better next time.

I did actually do something other than play poker today even though the stats kinda make it look like I didn't. I went over to my sister-in-laws house and installed their new blinds in their new house that they just moved into last night. Also went out to a nice dinner at our favorite mexican restauraunt. So I did get out from in front of this monitor for a few hours today.

Todays Stats:

Empire Poker NL25, 1 session of 4 tabling, 290 hands, 240 minutes, $27.65
Empire Poker NL50, 2 sessions of 4 tabling, 1616 hands, 1235 minutes, -$143.50

RB: 0
Bonus: $200.00

Bonus Progress:

Cleared the rest of the Empire bonus. Jesus what a rock garden.

I forgot to mention that today, my BR finally surpassed the $4000 mark. And that is NOT an April fool's joke. :D

And I was just looking at my stats on the first page and noticed something kinda cool about the year overall so far that I hadn't realised before. EVEN with the horrible February I had, I have yet to have more than 2 losing days in a row this year! I think that's a pretty good sounding stat. Now, some of those losing days were well into the range that I don't ever want to go again but it's still nice to know that even when things seemed like they were going terribly wrong for me, I was never very far away from a winning day. (How's that for positive thinking) :D
