I'm trying something out. Any datamining I do is in a different DB.

In Pokerace, under preferences and databases you can select how many databases you want it to show stats for. IF a player is in 2 databases, it adds his stats together.

So, now I don't need to have a HUGE DB for the hands I play. Pokerace will read the other DB even if its closed. So now (ideally) PT should be smaller, faster since I only need to look at my playing DB.
