Update for 4/20/06

As you can tell with the lack of updates i havent been playing much poker lately. This is because i GOT A JOB! weeeeeeeee

That pays $14/h! weeeeeeeeeee hahaha..screw college $14 an hour? hell ya.



But anyways, ive had to go through orientation and shit and im probably not gonna be playing much poker until i get used to the schedule...(work 6 days straight..get 2 days off..repeat.) They also use a swing shift...so thats gonna suck ass...working 7-3 one week, 3-11 the next..then 11-7. Its gonna be crazy.

If your wondering, im talking about the Owens Illinois glass factory in ATL...on the assembly line..in 110 degree heat. f yea.

On to poker.

The last 4 days including today ive played exactly 4 $10 9 person SNG's. I had 2 firsts, 1 second, and 1 fourth. With a profit of $73..or an ROI of about 166%....in the words of Duffman..Ohhhhhhhhhh Yeaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm gonna go back to cash games the next time i play though....Thats what this journal is about...

oh..and with the help of those SNG's im close to moving up to .10/.25!!!

WIth the new job and stuff i havent been able to play as much as i would like. But i did get a couple short sessions in the last couple days. I was pretty damn rusty...making a couple terrible calls for big losses and just bad play overall. Not the start i would of liked for .10/.25

Update for 4/25/06

Awful.

After almost 500 hands i was up $90...after 900 hands i was up $70. I then lost about $90 in 110 or so hands. ALL of it at one table...3 buyins worth against one awful player with a VPIP of 60% and PFR of 1%. All extremely unlucky of course. If you're interested in the specifics, i posted the hands in the low content forum.

The guy left the table with like a $170 stack. $90 from me. sick.

After he left, i called it a day.

4/25-

1202 hands 3 tabling .10/.25 NL 6max for 8 hours.

Since im using 5 buyins as my safety net, i now have $74.20 to lose before i have to move back down to .05/.10 NL.

Update for 4/27/06

I played a short 2 table session today..nothing crazy happened. The one big hand was me stacking off a guy with AA vs KJ on a J high flop. I bet pot on the flop, he miniraised, i pushed, he called and didnt improve. tytytyty

I also cashed out of PS and am gonna hit the reload bonus at Party as soon as i can transfer the funds. This will be the first bonus i have chased...ever. ..then i'll probably move to William Hill...Golden Riviera..etc...on down the list.

So i moved my BR to Party and what do ya know, the reload bonus had just expired. I am such a dumbass. Could it be a sign, though?..i mean, i had never whored a bonus in my entire life...maybe this means im destined to live my life not whoring myself. Which is a definate bummer.

Party did however give me a $35 bonus for some reason ...and i also signed up to support the PPA, giving me another $25 in my account.

Anyway, i had my first sessions at the Party .10/.25 tables and have done alright. I actually spent most of my time in FR to get used to the new software. I HATE the betting scrollbar...I do HATE it so. Im actually regretting my move to Party because of it. So goddamn annoying!

I played really well during todays session. For the first 2 hours or so i was down like $15, but still felt like i was playing good poker. So i kept at it and for the last hour i was up almost 3 buyins during that stretch. Also, considering that i hadnt slept in 36 hours I am really happy with today's results. Now i can get some much needed rest tonight without having to think about any dumb plays i made today...because i didnt make any.

Today's session sucked.

I couldnt catch anything the first 2 hours...before i knew it i was more than 2 buyins in the hole ($60)...(~$10 of which was due to tilt)

But then i got some cards and took down a couple big pots...ending a 3 1/2 hour session with about a $4 profit.

Half the deficit was erased in one hand....

Yesterday (5/8), I got the itch to play some $10 SNG's on Party.

Here were my stats-

Im not gonna sit here and whine and shit about me being sucked out 'x' amount of times...it was just an unlucky day. I went all in with AKs twice...both times the other guy had AA. AQ vs AK. bla bla bla.

I have played many a SNG in my day. I would consider myself a very good SNG player...i have done well up to the $100 SNG's on Paradise when i used to play there. It HURTS me to lose $96 by playing freakin $10 SNG's on Party. The players are horrible. The chip structure is decent. I know i have a huge advantage against 95% of the players at this level. I am not happy.

I have decided to play and FUCKING DESTROY the $10 SNG's on Party for the forseable future. Probably until i have a BR worthy of the $50NL 6max ring games...which is $1000.

I am pissed. I would not wanna be a $10 SNG player on Party right now. God help them. Because I am going to CRUSH ALL OF YOU.

Ok..its been awhile since my last update so i thought i would post.

I ended up playing about 60 SNG's with a -$40 or something profit. I really think i played those REALLY freakin well...just bad luck. Seemed as if everytime i pushed with AK when the blinds were huge..somebody would have AA or KK...bah.

I quit that shit a couple days ago and went back to 25NL 6max. Where i preceeded to be every donks best friend.

I played like shit....just terrible. And then i started getting raped over and over again by bad beats. Like i have AJ of diamonds with full stack..guy in front of me who also has full stack miniraises..i reraise OTB to $2. he calls.. Flop= JJ5 with two spades. He checks...i pot it. He calls. Turn is 8 of spades. He checks. I move all in for $18 in a $12 pot. He calls. River is the K of spades. He shows AQ with the A of spades and takes it down.

Guy miniraises PF..i call with KT OTB. Flop AQJ rainbow. He minibets...i pot it. He calls. Turn A. He checks...i bet half pot. He calls. River is a blank. He bets 1/2 pot. I call. He of course has QQ and i muck.

Shit like that. All day for two days.

THANK GOD Party had the reload bonus....after i cleared the $100 bonus my BR was like exactly $500. So now im pretty much back where i was before the SNG debacle.

Now im gonna go whore my ass off...until next time....

ok, so bla bla bla here is where im at in terms of poker right now...

I havent been able to play very much but my BR did just reach the 1K barrier today.

i have $101.50 at Stars and $953.06 on Party at this moment.

The $ on Stars is exclusively for satellites for the big Sunday tourney...i'll play the $5 and $10 4man HU SNG's to fund this.

The $ on Party is for the $50 6max cash games...as well as satellites for the big Sunday tourney. Within the next couple weeks however i will be infusing enough $ into my PP BR to insure $1500 for the $50 cash games, as well as set aside about $200 for the satellites. I will no longer take money out of my cash game BR for anything other than cash games. If the satellite BR gets low, i'll play some low limit HU matches.

Heres my plan. Grind away in the cash games while also looking for some big scores in a Sunday tourney.

I will also be moving around the cash game BR on Party for bonuses. etc.

I quit my job last week, so when my 2 weeks is up (this Saturday), i'll have time to play poker and enjoy the rest of my summer before school starts...yes, im going back to school this semester.

I'll be able to play 30+ hours a week in the cash games..hopefully 40+. Im thinking Monday thru Friday i'll put in those hours...then on Saturday i'll play the Satellites for the Sunday tourney.

My rules about moving up limits still stand-

Have 25 buyins for .50/1 before moving up.
Have 30 buyins for 1/2 AND be able to crush .50/1 before moving up.
Have 40 buyins for 2/4 AND be able to crush 1/2 before moving up.
Have 50 buyins for the rest...and be able to crush before moving up.

I'll start really workin on this next Monday...hopefully by the time school starts (August 22), i'll be playing 100NL or 200NL so i wont have to get a job. Going to school AND having a job really suck.
