This time I'm in better position for the raise and there's enough in the pot that I might be able to buy the button. it sucks having the two big stacks to my left, but not much I can do about that.

My intention with the CB here was to take down the pot right now. That's not a great flop for me, and if I get raised, I'm done. Or, if I get called and don't improve, I'm done.

Now, the reason I posted this is that in the IRC discussion that ensued, MVP was decidedly less than enthused about the flop CB (I don't remember his exact wording, but there were references to anal intercourse somewhere in there). Is the CB on that flop that bad, especially since I'm done with the hand if I get raised or don't improve?

I like the CB--risky, to be sure, but I think it's worth finding out where you're at.

I also very much like your turn check rather than getting crazy picking up the flush draw.

Also worth noting is how this attempt by your opponent to slowplay completely backfires on him. He clearly needs to bet out pot or checkraise the flop.

Looks ok, although that flop is not one on which you should CB all the time or against a large field obviously. Turn check is perfect.

Also, you may want to make slightly smaller CB's (provided you do the same when you do hit of course). In this case, I think $4 would have done the same for you, and at $25 they don't see the difference. On sites like UB where they have the bet pot button you have to be careful since some people see this as weakness, but on other sites this seems normal.
