Should I have pushed my wrap sooner? Should I have attempted a check raise on the turn or bet less? I might not have been able to get much on this hand since I was out of position.

Hmm... no, you played it well. I would bet the flop with K-J-T-8, but not without the king. With that flop, you don't want to see a jack or ten on the turn, so try to catch that eight cheap.

Agree with that, basically. Your hand is not that good on the flop, so you should only really raise against the weak leader if you're convinced you have a lot of fold equity. On the turn betting out is fine, though again your hand is about as weak as a nut can get on the turn (nearly 3/4 of the remaining cards will put out a bigger draw than your hand! Also, you're out of position, which will make the river tricky to play). This is a very, very rare spot where you MIGHT consider laying down to a big raise on the turn.
