Just read your journal and wanted to say best of luck to you in your endeavor! It seems to me that you are very serious about this and want to do those things that will lead to your success. I would like to offer a few points to consider while on your quest to being a poker pro. I don’t wish to offend so if something sounds harsh or rude I either wrote it incorrectly or you may be reading more into it than was my intent:

1. Several highly respected BTPer’s have posted in your journal with thoughts and advice. Make sure you take it to heart because these guys were once where you are and are now where you want to be. They have walked that path and made mistakes that you can avoid by following their advice, from a playing perspective to bankroll management to lifestyle changes.

2. In an effort to continue to improve as a poker player it makes very good sense to me to only play one table so you can focus on reads, consider your position, relative position, pot odds, etc etc. Another thing that is a must is to continue reading and rereading the best poker books out there. Also, remember what Poker Tracker is really for. Don’t use it just as a tool to see how much you win or lose, use it to study YOUR PLAY. Continuing to clear out PT and starting fresh really defeats the whole purpose of having this incredibly powerful tool. Looking at how you’ve done with AQo from LP has much more meaning when you have 500 instances than 50 or 60. Also, might have just missed seeing it, but do you use any type of HUD? If not you need to. Again this can really help in your read development. Once you become a very good player and know your game cold, it’s time to move to the next level…more tables.

3. To be a winning online professional, you don’t have to multi-table, but it sure makes like much much easier. More hands per hour = more $$$ per hour, bottom line. You clear bonuses faster, earn rakeback faster, and at the lower levels simply earn way more. Sure you BB/100 may drop, but your $$$/per hour generally increases. I can’t speak to the higher limits because I don’t play much above $3/6 but I play on many different sites and don’t see major differences in skill level between $1/2 and $3/6. Some, but not much. But jumping for 1-tabling to 8-tabling just doesn’t make any sense. I saw someone else mention adding tables in stages and building up to more. Awesome advice and the best way to do it. And the thing is, you don’t HAVE to get to 8-tabling. Just 4-tabling at the $3/6 level you could very easily make $50k a year if you are a winning player.
