One from last night $100NL 6-max Prima.
Villain is a winning TAG. He's tight and only plays about 18% of his hands at 6-max (avg is 30%).

I've seen him raise to x3BB with KQo in the past. The x3BB raise is not a good idea in my mind.

He raises x3BB in LP, button calls, and I call from BB with 5[d] 7[d].

Flop ($10) 5[h] 5[s] Q[s]. I check (questionable play), Villain raises $8, other guy folds, I call hoping for no spade knowing he's putting me on the draw with my check/call.

Turn ($26) J[h]. I check, he bets $15, I push (we both have full stacks), he thinks and thinks and calls with .... A[d] Q[c].

And he is one of the better players I've played with. I might be moving to $1/$2 soon.

I agree my opponent's play wasn't THAT bad, except the river. I was just so so glad he didn't bet that river, I would have had to call at least 1/2 pot, which was a pretty big bet at that point.

5-10 NL at a B&M

I was having a pretty good day and my stack was at about $1500. I was playing my usual TA style and had reraised preflop with high pocket pairs 3 times. And 2 of the 3 times i showed down KK's and AA's. The other time it was folded ot my reraise.

In the BB i wakeup with AA and the first thing i think is, "great, watch everyone fold to the blinds and we have to chop". So it folds all the way round to the button who raises it to $40. HALLELUJAH. This guy was a jerk to boot.

SB folds and i reraise him to $120.
He reraises to $480.

Considering he had only about $800 left i just pushed all in immediately.

So he thinks about it and starts talking to me.

Donk: You have pocket aces?
Me: It's one of the hands i could have.
Donk: Well if you have pocket aces i can still beat you.
(that had to have been one of the dumbest statements i've heard in my life)
Me: Than you should really call. (at this point i could care less if he folded - $480 and no chance of a suckout? I'll take it every time)
Donk: All right i call i'm all in.

He flips over . Lol. Cha-ching. Thanks for your $1200+. After that hand when he left i got a barrage of comments such as, "Merry X-mas", "What did you do in a past life", "How come that doesn't happen to me?".

I came back the next day and people were still talking about that hand.

I'm new to NLHE ring. Just started playing a couple of days ago. Started out at $50 for a few days to test the waters, did pretty well and moved up to $100 today at Full Tilt. Bghwftex had been at the table for awhile, and I caught him a couple of times throwing money around with nothing. The guy was at about 50% VPIP, and he couldn't stop himself from bluffing at pots. My intention was to put him all in on the flop no matter what hit as long as there wasn't an A involved, but he beat me to the punch. I didn't hesitate for a second about calling. But I cringed at the turn and the river, halfway expected a 2 to hit.

Psssh... getting all in with top pair certainly isn't donkish at all.

Calling in that spot is UBER donk...pushing maybe not, but calling in a raising war = donktastic. nihan...bet you were ROFL for that one!

Here's a fun one. It's from memory as I am not using PT or PA HUD. Yesterday at 200NL

I limp with a small pp, 44 I think.

I flop a full house, board was like 455. I bet about 1/2 pot and get a caller. Turn is a K I think. I bet and get checkraised. I'm like, damn he better not have Kings full, but I push. He calls. He has A9o lol

This is only $50 NL, but it's a memorably donkish play. And it bailed me out of a horrible situation.

Let's show the hand from the POV of the donk. Donk and Hero are full, BB is short.

1 EP limper, Hero limps in the CO then Donk limps otb with 88. SB calls, BB checks.

5 to the flop of [6d][4d]. $2.50 in the pot. Checks to hero who bets full pot. Donk calls. BB calls and has only $15 left behind. Everybody else folds.

Turn . $10 in pot. SB checks, Hero bets $5, Donk minraises to $10, BB now check-raises his stack ($15).

So there's now $40 in the pot. Hero goes into the tank for as long as the Party software allows. Donk has plenty of time to think. He has top set with $5 to call to try to boat up. There is $40 in the pot, and will be $50 if Hero calls. Hero and Donk will each have more than $30 left behind if both call.

What does donk do? Donk prechecks the "FOLD" box in the software....

Hero FINALLY makes the call and shows 44 for bottom set. Donk instafolds getting 10:1 odds. BB shows [Td] for the flopped flush. River is an 8 which would have brought the Donk quads and probably allowed him to take most of the rest of Hero's stack.

Instead Hero scoops the pot.


(How do I know he folded 88? He said so. And nobody lies about making a play that is THAT donktacular.)
