This is typical of the kind of hand that kills me at the low limit I play.

1/2 full ring on party

Dealt KK in early position and raise, called by 3 plus the BB.
Flop K J T rainbow. BB bets, I raise, called by 1 and BB (3 handed)
I fear a straight but have ten outs for the nut full house
Turn is 4 of diamond
BB checks, I bet, both call
River is 5 of diamonds making a flush possible.
again BB checks, I bet, late calls BB raises (uh oh) but this is low limit fish pond.
I call and late calls.

BB turns over 78 of diamonds for the flush.

I have a hard time folding good hands especially after I build a big pot. I have seen many low limit players check raise with weak holdings (TPTK) trying to buy the pot but, late position could have also flopped the straight and had me the whole way. I feel like this is a leak because it happens quite frequently. Any advice?

Can I really fold on the river after building a nice pot?

you can't fold because there is enough money in the pot that you only have to be right a small amount of the time and take the whole pot to make it a winning play to call. You would be surprised how many people with raise when they catch a second pair or trips (chasing a pocket pair to the river). You just gotta call, watch the pot go that way and make a note that he chased the low end of an inside straight and backdoor flush draw for 2 bets cold on flop. They suck you out with these types of hands but they pay you off a lot more than they take.

I play this exactly the same way, but I do not bet the river. As long as I am pretty sure I'm ahead, I'm betting. Once I'm not so sure, I quit betting.

After all, what could they be calling you with? They're obviously drawing to SOMETHING. When something obvious hits, don't throw more money at it than you have to. You were ahead, and then you weren't. Maximize while you're ahead, and get out when you're not.

When I think I'm beaten on the river, I call one last BB part of the time and fold part of the time. If you call every time, you're throwing away too much $$. But if you fold regularly, people will start to bluff at you.

Overall, though, just a typical beat. Happens all the time in limit.

I'll also put an alert on my post since I've only been playing for about a year a half.

IMO, I don't stop betting the river for a backdoor flush draw. If the flopped flush draw hit, then I will check/call. More often than not, you win a couple extra BB on the river than you lose by paying for the raise. Sometimes, they don't even raise their flush because its normally with crappy cards and with you betting, they think you have a higher one.
