Dave vs. maniacs, round 2...

Ok, I know bad flop bet... but what the hell do you do here? Does he really think top pair is good, or is he buying the pot? I've played with this maniac before... and am never sure how to deal with him. I mean, this is honestly one of the worst flops for AA23 I've ever seen in my life, but then I realized this guy often bets with absolutely nothing, so I peeled off a turn card to see if I could at least pick up a low draw. The range of hands I might guess at are: no pair, a set, a straight, a straight draw, 1 pair, 2 pair... etc.

Strategically I find it difficult to play against people where you can never even guess their logic or train of though. I'm very glad I didn't lay it down, and got to see his holdings though... valuable information.

pfrr likely defines your hand too well. a good aggressive player will jump all over this flop against your pfrr.

furthermore, the pfrr didn't get enough of your stack in pf to make a powerplay on the flop... AND you're OOP.

the flop lead is just so phenomenally stupid... why do you do this? either jam the pot (the purpose of the pfrr), CR the flop, or check-call flop donkbet turn if you want to be tricky (not sure why you would want to do this, though, given your pf action).

regardless, maybe this maniac will give you a little more respect. if i had witnessed you in this hand, i would have been REALLY busy taking notes about your various donkey moves.
