The quest for the WSOP seat continues. I am abandoning the post on the last page, cuz, well, it is on the last page and this is a new page, so out with the old and in with the new. A recap: I basically suck at poker. No, wait, I got into an Interpoker WSOP qualifier on this coming Saturday. I am trying to get into the Full Tilt 100 seat guarantee via satelite, and I will just buy in to the stars 150 seat guarantee. I can make more money playing ring games and bonus whoring than I save by playing qualifiers, except for the Full Tilt guarantee, which is $535 to enter.

Over the last couple of days I have messed around at nl50 and 2/4 LO8, up about $100, which I gave back all but $20 at limit hold'em. My limit holdem game has gone. I think I may just stop playing unless it is absolutely necessary for bonus clearing purposes. I have far better, and so far consistent, results at LO8.

To recap the WSOP attempt to date: I have not spent more money than I have won for the most part. I have a $26 token at full tilt that I will fire off today. I will have a busy weekend playing in satelites.

The quest for the WSOP seat has ended in failure. I played in a number of sub-qualifiers and I got seats in four qualifiers, but never came very close to the money in any of the four qualifiers. I spent in total about $550, far less than the $1k I had allocated to the project. Thanks to Roy, Trump34, ale_k300 and others on the IRC channel for sweating me in some of these tourneys.

Oh well, back to the grind. I am gonna be whoring bonuses like no tomorrow. Time to get poker kickstarted back in the right direction. WSOP 2007 is gonna happen.

Well, in the 5 days since I last posted, I have had another downturn. I donked off about $300 in a live 3/6 LHE game with Just Dan, but I had a shitload of fun doing it. I lost another $350 in a 2/3 blind 300 max game at lake tahoe when I flopped a set of aces and my opponent flopped broadway. I have made less than $100 in the last three days on the internet playing nl100 and LO8 at stakes up to 5/10. I am in a kind of funk, but I am not too concerned yet. This is what bankrolls are for.

Inspired by Wintermute's post on short stack PLO8 strategy, I am going to give it a try. I will buy in to the $200s for $40, and follow Mute's strategy. If I go through the blinds without playing a hand, I will rebuy to $40. I will leave the table as soon as I hit $80 or more. I will of course report the results here. I am willing to dedicate 10 buy-ins to the endeavor. As soon as I go up 10 buy-ins, I will move to the $400s. I will see how far I can get. I will also report how often I piss people off, which short stacking and ratholing tends to do. I will revel in pissing people off; it is one of the motivating factors in doing this. I will be doing this across all sites; I have a lot of bonuses queued, and this should be a decent way to clear those bonuses. This should be fun.
