I think it would make more sense to get rid of the shorthanded section and jsut have it in the NL section. A lot of short handed stuff ends up in the NL section anyways and the play of the hands is not really that different between 9 handed and 6 handed.

doh... yuck... i really don't like this idea.

i agree that lots of SH questions were posted in non-SH areas, but now people specializing in SH (as I just started) have to sift through lots of non-SH material to find what they are looking for. this is almost impossible, especially give the fact that many people do not write appropriate subject lines.

furthermore, i think 6-max is a vastly different game.

is there any way to undo this?

if necessary, i would be willing to "moderate" the section -- additionally scanning the limit and nlhe sections and moving posts that were inappropriately placed.

this is really... ugh... lots of sh lhe posts are in the nl section. this stuff will never be found again buried in the limit and nl sections. -- and there is some really good stuff there.

Yep.. There is good stuff everywhere, but the trouble is that the SH section only had like 2 pages of topic after a whole year. It just wasn't very popular as a section in it's own right.

Perhaps we should make a 'best of shorthanded discussions' post, add all of that stuff and make it sticky in the NL section?

Suggestions are welcome, but that section being a separate one just wasn't working out.

The Aisthesis (sp?) SH posts are top notch, sticky-up some of those please!

well, i was trying to liven the SH section up (just started this week), but i can deflinitely see your point.

maybe i can bribe you? i'll guarantee at least 100 new quality threads (hand histories, strategy questions, etc. -- not junk one-liners) by the end of November in the SH section if you revive it. i think if it gets some action, people will be more willing to start to go there, read the content, and post.

i'll stop begging after this request.

next question... is anything going to be done about all the SH LHE posts that are now in the NLHE section?

Whilst I'm not doubting your goodwill, people have tried with the SH section before.

With regards to your question, I've postulated that we have a sticky containing links to all the good SH posts and keep it updated with new ones, so people can find this information easily.

There has been a vast increase in SH posts over the past couple of months as members have gone across from FR. Any chance of looking at this again and separating FR and SH for the NLHE section?

If tetsuo is game I can probably whip up a phpbb patch that would add the ability to store stake + FR/SH/HU (or whatever) in the DB and filter searches/browses by that field...

That would avoid both having to create a separate forum and having to maintain a sticky.
