Originaly I was going to keep a written journal of my trip to vegas and then I thought why not just document it here. So I'll share all my donk moves with the people who can bash me most.
I arrived in Vegas on Friday 7/14. Didn't play any games Friday night. I did get over to the Rio to check out the WSOP. It's pretty cool to see the faces in person that you've been watching on ESPN for the last couple of years. I have to admit I felt a little intimidated at first, it's a big poker room with alot of people in it.
Sat down at my first table, $2/$5 NL, on saturday morning. Played about 2hrs and made $120. I have a friend that was playing in the $2000NL WSOP event #22. Watched him for a while he was on the second day and was 7th out of about 60 left.
Toured the strip with the wife and made my way back to the Rio. My friend was still in it about 15th of 30. Sat down at my 2nd table, $2/$5 NL FR, table started out pretty loose but I took down my first 5 or 6 pots and everyone really tightened up against me. After abot 2 1/2 hrs I made $275. My friend Stuart Moody finished 22 out of 1570 and cashed for $21,000. Not bad for a $2000 investment.
I was planning on playing at some of Rhound's reccomendations but right now I think the only place to play is the Rio. The games do have a different feel than the live games I've played in Atlantic City. Everyone here thinks they are a pro and in AC 3/4 of the table were just there to have a good time.
I'm trying to docment my hands better while at the table so I can post more hands while here.
