Go ahead and rip it apart. If nothing else, I should at least learn something from this hand.

I just limped since I only had a high only hand and me being in late position, a raise was just making the pot bigger. I thought the flop was a good one for me with top 2 pair and an overpair (although the overpair worried me since it makes a str8) until the SB 3 bet it. At that point, I thought I could be against a flopped set or a draw. A draw I could beat but the set, I needed outs too. On the turn, I was a little worried about a check/raise and also it put a low draw out there, which I didn't have. It got checked down and I was gonna bet the river if it didn't complete the low or a straight, which basically left the board pairing.

I didn't really have a read on him since he wasn't playing a lot of pots and few of his hands to that point had gone to showdown.

Bet turn, check behind river, that is how I would play it.

raise preflop, play the flop as you did, bet the turn and fold to a raise as suggested. if he calls the turn, checking the river seems best.

What's wrong with calling? I think folding is pretty horrible...

I think this is way too much hand to give up without seeing a flop for one bet; anytime the flop comes high you're likely to be liking the look of it. Scooping should always be on your mind in limit O8 but I'd say that "the objective is to scoop" is a bit of a simplification - the objective is to make +EV plays, regardless of what portion of the pot you're likely to be winning and I think that, for one bet, in position, this is a hand that has positive expectation.

That said, I still prefer the raise but I think folding any AA hand for one bet is too tight really, especially in position.
