$1000 Tournament: More Bullshit at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona New York!
On the website it was stated that this and the $5000 event would start with 5000 in chips, with hour long blinds, as opposed to 3000 in chips and half hour blinds (like the other smaller events). Well we had 3000 chips again, but at least the blind levels were 1 hour. My table consists of the following:
Seat 1: The fucking hideous looking cunt bag that crippled me in the last $1000 event I played here when he saw into my soul and decided I had AK and called my shove with TT. Woops I had KK, oh well here's your set retard.
Seat 2: Guy who was behind me in registration line. I overheard him talking, apparently he runs a really nice pretty big home game somewhere in the state. A player from his home game has chopped or won every tournament here so far.
Seat 3: A kid who I played $20/$40 half and half with. He won a $300 event here a while back and thats where all his money came from. He is hungover and wants to get some sleep.
Seat 4: A 19 year old kid who I played in some tournament with here a while back. We chatted for a bit and at the time he was a $210 SnG player on Stars. I remember him playing well and being a little tough to read. He has a last longer in this tournament with JERRY, MrSmokey1, and a few others, so he must be pretty good. (confirmed later in the day, played very well and tough to read post flop)
Seat 5: Seat 2s friend.
Seat 6: Unknown old tight guy.
Seat 7: Two Year Old lazy internet wiz kid. Loves sushi and Calvin and Hobbes.
Seat 8: Idiot who busted quick ,then got replaced by a maybe 24ish year old. He seems to be pretty ok. He keeps calling my raises in position (but due to talking and showing and such, it becomes apparent its sorta randomness and he keeps picking up middle pairs and such when I raise)
Seat 9: Another tight old guy.
Seat 10: A 28ish year old black man who I played $300 NL with a while back. He was terrible and way too loose-aggressive. He raised to $45 pre flop all the time. He doubled up at one point and tightened up considerably though. While in registration line, seat 2 and him chat, seat 2 then says shortly thereafter that he is probably the best player in his home game. I am wondering if seat 2 is an idiot, or if this guy has improved (it was the latter, he was quite good now)
So blah blah blah I get no hands and miss all my flops and stuff and find myself with like 1400ish. Lately every time I raise 3092485 people call and I lose or 1 person calls and like raises my continuation bet (seat 8). 0 Big hands. I get KK UTG+1 and decide that since SnG boy is likely to raise weak limpers and the table may notice that every time I raise I lose, I can get in a limp here. I limp in and seat 2 raises to 400 (blinds are 50/75). I shove. He calls with KQ. I double up. I get AK UTG and make it 225. Seat 9 makes it 500. All fold to me. I stare him down think a bit and shove. And he says "I guess I found out what I needed to know" and folds two jacks face up. LOLOLOLOL. 3 hands later it folds to me on the button with 88 and I raise. The SB goes to grab chips and I say to him "jeez you really love playing pots with me." He makes the all too common mistake of thinking he can talk in a hand without giving out information like Daniel Negreanu can, and responds. He says that he "has a hand that he has to re-raise me with." I made it 225 and he made it 800. I call. I stare him down while the dealer lays out the flop and I dont see this guy as too strong. He bets 1200. I glance at the T72 rainbow flop and shove without much thought. He hems and haws briefly and keeps saying how he has to call and knows he is behind. Seat 10, winner of most improved player of the year award, tells me I made a nice read before the cards are flipped. I show 88 and the SB has AQ. I say "I don't like my chances, I don't feel lucky." The turn is a 6 and I'm still standing. The SB says "I like your chances."
Boy, you got me confused with a man who repeats himself.
