you can set up individual HU matches on stars if you want that would eliminate folks from entering. What do you think about having Individual winners of each division and One wild card with the most points in each league. Thus 6 players of 16 would make the playoffs. The wildcard would face the lowest point winner of the divisions with the top point person in the division getting a buy (best 2 of 3 in each match). The final could be a best of 5 series. Put me in the list of participants.

And instead of limiting it to 16, why don't you opne it up to as many as you want, but even out the players to four pools (A B C and D), and the top 4 from each pool advance to a tournament bracket?

And I've looked all around to do these HU matches, and Stars is the best place to do it.....

Another idea:

Have a series of HU MTT's (like 8) on a weekely basis. Your finish position earns you points, at the end of the season, guy with the most (or least depending on the scoring system) wins.

There are a couple various systems out there, I seem to prefer the system we used when we raced sailboats. first gets 3/4 point, then everybody else gets their place in points. Players that did not play in that event get the field +1 in points. Low score wins.

I'm in with the proviso that I can only play on Stars. I don't have an account elsewhere, and am not willing to set one up and fund it just to participate.

As to the point system, as long as everyone is playing everyone else regularly, why not just 1 point for a win and 0 for a loss or no-show?

Then the player with the most points wins at the end.

What one COULD also do is not make it winner take all (it there are 16 of us) but maybe have the top 4 play a shootout.

My suggestion would be this for top 4:

First, let's say there's a prize pool of $200. Then fourth place would get $20, third would get $40, fifth $60, and first $80.

Second, at the end of "regular season," the top four rated players could play as follows: First place plays fourth place, and second place plays third place. The matches would be best 3 out of 5.

Then the winner of each of those would play a best 3 out of 5 for first (and second), and the losers would play a best 3 out of 5 for third (and fourth).
