There was/is a phishing email scam happening the was using the name FBI and trying to look official, but it was just wanting info, to help spam/ indentity theft organizations.

If the FBI or the CIA (or interpol for that matter) wanted you for anything, they would not be sending you an email.
They would simply knock on your door at 4:30am, and get you.
Old gestapo tactics still work.

I definitely think we should get a copy of that email here.

The funny thing is, what can they glean from the information posted? I mean - I know a lot of people tend to doctor their numbers to make themselves look better than they actually are. Maybe that's not the case in the posts that they'll look through, but it could very well be.

This is all very disappointing though.

I think this is a April Fool's joke that they started to set the base with a few days early in order to not make it look like a joke. If so, it was well done and I'm normally one of the guys that fall for this stuff without question.

Very odd - surely any information posted here about earnings is too recent to show any failure to pay tax? I take it that in the US you pay tax on your earnings at the end of the year? And only TUP and Ice of the regular bankroll posters can be earning anything like enough money to worry the IRS?

I'm witha good April Fools joke here, though I'm not sure I'd call an all-in, giving how bizarre US authorities' behaviour can be...oh and wouldn't you need to lock the poker journal section too ?

I'm usually the most gullible person you'll meet, too trusting I suppose, the two times I remember refusing to believe someone about something was when I was a teenager and my friend called to tell me Kurt Cobain had killed himself (oops!).

The other was when on holiday in Greece a waiter told me and a mate that someone had flown some planes into the pentagon and the WTC. My friend believed him and when the waiter left my exact words were "you don't actually believe that do you?" (how wrong is it possible to be?)

How the hell I manage living off poker when I'm so gullible I don't know, might explain my tight style though, ' he must have a hand hand if he's raising!'
