Thought I would join the crowd and give one of these a shot. Not completely sure why, (damn, my reflection looks good in that water! (?)), but it looks like a little fun.

Current stakes: 100nl 6-max
Donkaments: HU SNG's
Short term goals: Not losing $500 a day.

Bo!

August, Week 1

Only played 13 hours this week (2.2k hands) but I ran very hot at 16.8 ptbb/100. Each morning I would fire up the tables, double up here, double up there and then be done for the day after an hour or two of play. About the best I can ask for.

I try to play 6 hours a day but if I stumble into a big win in the morning session, I'll often call it a day.

At the end of a day or a week I go into the Game Notes tab of PT and review all of my biggest wins and losses. Does everyone do this? For the week I won 6 pots with a net of $100 or greater. I lost 1 for $95 and 1 for $85. After that my biggest loss was for $24. I reviewed the biggest loss hand and saw that I had re-raised someone all-in on the flop with 18 outs and the outs didn't come. But I think I would play it the same way every time.

August, Week 2

Only played about 18 hours and got my ass handed to me every minute of it. Ended up down $160 on the week but I cleared $150 in bonus so, eh, not all that bad.

Besides, I've been pleasantly occupied working on all these casino bonuses. It's definitely cutting into my time at the tables but it's a nice break from poker, and damn is it easy money. Yesterday I finished the sign-up bonus at Monaco Gold for a net of $700. Today I'm starting the 100% up to $1000 at Mansion. It's going to take a long time to clear, but the EV is somewhere around $450 so it should still be worth it.

Hollywood Poker Graphics/Sound Mod + Gamepad Script = :D :D :D

The new HP experience. The dark table background at HP always bothered me but the bonuses were too good to leave behind. So I replaced the table gaphic with the one from Hold'em Poker (eye-friendly blue). I also replaced the annoying "IT"S YOUR TURN NOW!" sound with a more pleasant "Sir, if it's not too much trouble, would you mind attending to your hand at the other table" sound from some other poker site.

If anyone is interested in doing this, note that everytime you start HP (or any OnGame site) it updates any files that have been changed and restores the originals, so you have to create a .bat file to copy the originals and the mods back and forth, but it's really easy. There's a thread on 2+2 that explains how to do it, or just let me know and I'll outline the steps here.

Second, I read about the gamepad scripts for Party and PokerStars, but I couldn't find one anywhere for OnGame. So I wrote my own. It uses one of those Playstation-like PC controllers. You can control everything for multi-tabling NL without using the mouse or the keyboard. Works like this:

-2 trigger buttons cycle through the tables
-There's a button each for fold, check, and bet/raise.
-The directional pad controls the "bet amount" slider.
-There's a bet pot button and a bet 3/4 pot button.
-One of the joysticks controls the mouse cursor in case you want to get pop-up stats on someone with AceHUD, or read notes on a player.
-There's a button for "ty" and "nice hand"
-A button that will sit you out AND a button that will automatically reload your stack.

It is amazing. If anyone is interested in it let me know. I'll probably post it on 2+2 once I clean it up, but I'm really not in that much of a rush to be enhancing the play of a hundred of my opponents (all you btp people excepted :D ).

Pretty boring day. Played for about 6 hours, 1300 hands, and only won $70 (+$50 in bonus). Got over-setted on the flop twice. The first time was against a 1/3 stack, so I didn't lose that much.

The second time, I called a raise with 77. Flop was [7s] [8s] [9h]. I led out with a psb, $12, PF raiser called, and then a solid player raised to $40. Ugh. So I folded and made a comment like "can't believe I'm folding this" and he said "88??" and then he said he had 99.

It was a pretty easy fold but I couldn't help saying something. Is it bad to let the opponent know that I'm making a big laydown? Is it better to pretend I had nothing?

Just played my first $20 HU SNG. Absolutely crushed this dude. Looking back at the Hand History, I won 26 of the last 30 hands, including the last 15 in a row, all but the last without showdown.

Early we on we had some verbal strife. I called him a donk and he called me a dick head. And then later I said "j/k about the donk thing" and he said "sorry about calling you a dick head" and we had a little moment and it was nice to play gentlemanly for a change.

lol, yeah i'm sure by the end he was back to thinking I was a dick head again.

Played 3 more $20 HU SNG's today, winning 2. I wore one guy down so much that he eventually just gave up and called my preflop all in with 53o.

The guy I lost to was a donk that thought he was awesome because he probably usually wins these things because the people that play them are even worse than him. My first hand with him:

I raised to 60 with AK
Villain calls.
*** Flop *** : 6d 10c 2c
Villain checks, I bet 100, Villain calls.

*** Turn *** : [ 6d 10c 2c ] 5h
Villain checks, I check.

*** River *** : [ 6d 10c 2c 5h ] 9s
Villain bets 500, I raise all-in, Villain folds.

So I started off with a huge lead, got him down to about 700 chips and then got distracted with a phone call. Doubled him up when he flopped two pair and then I got all in on the flop with him when I was an 80% favorite. He caught runner-runner straight and that was pretty much it.

Those of you that play these things at higher levels, at what stakes do the players stop being terrible?
