Great post. I like your self-reflective personality the best. If you could create a plan from that last post and stick to it(less spending, playing the games you win the most at), you would be on your way to becoming a very disciplined poker player, not to mention, someone who has their head together when it comes to their financial situation. I'd say there are few people who really can say that.

I gotta say that with the BR being indecline/jeopardy you gotta grab da LOOT! Work out your weekly nut, plus a realistic amount to add to the bankroll and then any excess can be used for MTT's at the end of the week.

I guess it'd be safer to do this on a monthly basis to start with and then the money allotted to the MTTs should be be viewed as a specifc non-working bankroll fund.

So yeah, I wouldn't necessarily focus on playing way more hours, just focus on NL cash, cut out the HU SNGs, that seems to be pure variance and a time drain. Everyone's looking to make a big score in a MTT but pinning your hopes on that is hopeful and putting 1/30th of your roll into a $500 WCOOP 4000 player tourney is a really bad idea at the moment.

Cash game, cash game cash game. And no taking shots at 1000NL unless you save up extra for it. For the next few months, poker isn't about testing yourself or taking chances beyond 400NL, it's about making money in the most reliable manner you can, thrills and variance are now your enemy.

I think you need to take poker more seriously than you do now. It is your job, so do it properly!! Set the timetable for playing, choosing the most juicy hours and days, I assume it should be at least 5-6 hours a day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 2 more days of your choice during the week. You also need to put some hours into studying.

I mean organise your poker life, like people organise their jobs.

Honestly, IMO it's your biggest leak, lack of organisation.

If you reread your posts since the start of the year, what do you find? A lot of farting around with silly girls who ended up screwing with your mind, some frivolous spending and much buffoonery: all fine in their own place of course, but not the most solid foundation to a fledgling high-stakes poker career.

I agree with kenny that you should take some of the complications out of your game by focussing only on NL cash games for the time being.

Either concentrate on producing your A game every week, go travelling to get some of the wanderlust out of your system, or get a job. Jesus, even I play > 21 hrs per week, and I've got a full time job and a family to occupy me!

Still, the honesty of this post looks like a big step in the right direction.

Hilarious

Well I just played another successful session. I came out ahead a little over $1800. I managed to make that much money in the session despite the following:

Misclick shoving (I meant to highlight the default raise to 8, and change it to 14. Instead I clicked behind the 8, typed in 14, and raised after 0 limpers to $814.) Some guy called with AK and my A4s flopped a flush draw but never got there. -$400.

Getting it all in with QT of clubs on a KJ9 two club flop against our very own Hard2Tel. He had a set of kings and banged a 9 on the river. -$500 or -$1100 depends how you wanna look at it I suppose.

Putting in $80 pre flop with AA vs. 56o, and having the flop come down 478 all spades (I have the A of spades) and losing. -$585 or -$1170, again, depends on how you wanna look at it.
