Well do you play for the big score or do you make your living off these things where even small wins over time will amount to a good amount in the future. Personally, It depends on ones finacial situation, and your playing style. There really arent any tournies where anything other than the final table makes you substantial money( minus the big events) so I pretty much just go for +chip ev situations all the time.

With any sort of normal payout structure, yeah, that's pretty much it.
