Stars $1/2 6 MAX
Tested out some 6 MAX on stars this weekend for the first time. It was a rollercoaster indeed. Deposited $500 (Maximum I could deposit per day
).
Short summary:
First session down $150, "I'm obviously not good enough for this game". Missed everything and not a set.
Second session, 1/2 hour I hit 2 sets where I was PF raiser (had KK both times), and one AA. In all 3 hands there was a CS who didn't believe my bets and who called me down on all streets with TP (and one even called me down with middle pair..lol).
30 minutes, up $400, now a net up of $270 in total.
Played yesterday, it was a lot tighter and I ran into a few hard beats, especially one which I don't think I played too bad, but it was expensive:
A good LAG before me makes it $10 PF (He is MP and has a $600 stack), I reraise directly behind him with AKs to $25 (I have a $200 stack), his PFR is about %20 and he would do this with a lot of PP's. All folds to us, he calls.
Flop comes:
K95 (rainbow), pot ($50)
He checks to me, he has reraised me out of flop before and I want a showdown on this one, I decide to check behind on flop to keep the pot down and intend to call him down on turn / river.
turn: brick.
He leads for $25, I call.
River brick:
He leads for $50, I call.
He flips over KK for the nuts. It hurts but nothing compared to how it would hurt if I had bet that flop. So I'm quite happy with this hand anyway. I think a lot of players would have lost their stack right here.
The session costs me $250 in total, I'm not playing bad but I loose just about every showdown to all kind of unlikely holdings and don't hit any draws.
Played another session later in the day. Destacked a shortstack with AKs and stole quite a few pots, up $150.
At least I made the $50 PokerStars bonus.... $50 bucks, cheap bastards aren't they.
Total BR: $4840
