yes, he had a 2:1 chip lead over both opponents, but these are guys who are both fearless and great MTT players.
Not to take anything away fro hards play (though he did suck out like 39 times in the hour or so that i was watching), but lets face it, all it takes is one double up and now one of them has a 2:1 chip lead.
we saw pretty quickly what happened when he called with a straight draw (getting roughly 3:1 i think) against mid pair - sbrounder suddenly had over 1 mil, and hard was almost in last place. of course, he got it back two rounds later with KK vs 66, but that's besides the point.
I think this is a good deal considering the quality of the players he's up against. if he's playing fish, i might ask for more (i probably wouldn't even consider leaving 5k for first). as it stands, he was being guarenteed better than 2nd place no matter what happens. I think that's a great deal for him.
And of course, he won the 5k save to boot, dragging over 30 grand for himself.
