lol
now to be fair, the QT hand was when it was 4 or 5 handed and i had more than enough odds to call his push.
The K8 hand....i just fucked up. SB raised my BB and i pushed...happened to be up against AA.
The deal...we ran the numbers when it got down to three handed and left 5k in the middle to play for. I had them outchipped 2-1 so i got ~25k and they both got ~20k. And then i ended up winning the extra 5k.
...during the discussion i really didnt have any idea what to do...so i turned to emmasdad and xaston to get their input. ED said it was a good deal..xaston of course is a greedy bitch and thought i should get more. lol...i ended up goin with ED obv. because hes not retarded. Im pretty sure i made the correct decision..even after i ended up winning...
As far as books go, ive read all the skalansky and harrington shit. But i can honestly say i didnt get that much out of them...except for the concept of M. Most of my improvement has come from experience and watching the top players.
Ive been working on an article...but really alot of my suggestions will be considered unnecessary i guess by the average MTT player. I mean my style is pretty much balls to the wall...most people wont be able to play like i do. But the result would be alot more final tables and top 3 finishes. Its hard to explain.
Like in the sunday mil yesterday, i had a below avg stack with ~500 people left. I had J9o in the SB...goes around to the button who makes a standard raise. I push. BB wakes up with KK, button mucked, KK held. tommyhawk, who is a solid tourney player, was railing me and said that what i did was a waste. Hes correct i guess...i could of been more patient and played 'standard' shortstack poker...i might of even had a run and went deep in the tourney. But what i did was automatic for me. Im sure theres some mathematical explanation of the gain in ROI or something by making this play...but i dont know how to explain it. But like i said, im trying to write the article. If i think it makes sense and u guys can learn something from it, i'll post it.
