I am a complete noob at this game (this was my first session) so expect a bunch of stupid questions.

I think I should have gotten away from it after the second draw. What does everyone else think? Also how is the rest of my play?

The hand that you are dealt is a monster. You have a made 8 with a smooth 7 draw (2 cards complete your 7 and you cant make a straight or flush). Depending on the number of players you can play this one of two ways, play it as a 1 card smooth 7 or as a pat 8. Against one player playing this as a pat 8 is a decent play. Though when the villian shows a ton of stregnth before the first draw and raises you after drawing 1 you have to think he has a huge hand. His reraise before draw 1 and bet after probably means he either had 2XX7 or 2345 either way when he htis his draw you lose to either a 7 or an 8. You have postion so after he stands pat before draw #2 I have to think you are beat. This is where the stregnth of your hand kicks in. You have a very nice redraw to a 7 a 4 makes you the nuts a 6 makes you a decent 7. I dont really like check calling both streets unless he is a moron he is going to have you beat.
