Oof. Against anyone else I would have broken the 87 but he was moron I didn't. All I have to say is wow he played he hand bad.

Yet another session of 27TD, and yet another win. I keep getting better as I play but man are these people bad. Also I continue to have success @ 2/4 while my .5/1 results have become lack luster.

I think this is happening because
- I am paying more attention to the 2/4 table
- I am making hands at the 2/4 table
- People actually fold at the 2/4 table which means I can bluff a little and drop my variance
- Variance

I also have still been 2 tabling. Next session I am going to make sure I concentrate more at the .5/1 table (possibly 1/2 if there is a game running). Then once I have that down I am going to try to open a 3rd table.

-48 in 1/2 hr. I missed 6 straight smooth draws in a row (3 before first draw, and 3 after first draw). Eh.

Edit: Decided that I didn't want my session to end like that so I sat down at 2 2/4 tables (gasp - there were 2 running!), and the deck hit me in the head. Then one of the tables broke and I got HU against the WTest player ever. The combination of the two brought me back to black for the session. +33 in 1.5hrs

Yet another limit 2/7 TD session, and I may have lied a bit about the multitabling. Instead I only played 2 because I found a juicy game of 2/4 AND a juicy game of 3/6 running at the same time! The 3/6 game was a little rough. Over 1 stretch I lost 37 out of 38 hand at a 6 max table , and went down almost $100. However, I weathered the storm and ended up $30 at that table. I also won on both 2/4 tables so overall it was a good day.

This is one of the things I am enjoying about playing 2/7 (and I would guess this is true for limit poker everywhere): If I am down in a session I feel like I can just play another hour or two and make it up. In PLO8 you really make money in busts when you win a big pot. If that burst doesn't come you are not going to be able to make it up.

I think that I am going to stick with the stakes > 1/2 from now on. I feel more comfortable on them because of the aggression and people play less random so they are easier to read. In fact I was eyeing a 5/10 table, which I may take a shot if it gets really good (> $50 ave pot with > 40% of the table per draw).

I also made on really sick laydown. I was playing an 86 and bet into this guy when after he drew one on the second draw. He flat called and then stood pat after I stood pat. I checked to him and he checked behind with 23458. A couple of hands later this came up

Are there any good TD threads on 2+2 or elsewhere that you found? This one had some nuggets...

Another good 27TD session, this one was +96 in 3.5 hours (damn I really wanted my first 3 digit session). Lets do a little math.
- At the 2/4 game I think 5BB/100 is doable.
- Since it is shorthanded 75 hands per hour is realistic.
- That is 20 $ / 100 which at 75 hands and hour is $15 / table hour
- When I get better I think that 3 tabling is reasonable so I could see pulling $45 / hr out of this game, without too much of a problem.

A few caveats
- I don't think that I am currently good enough for 5 BB / 100, I would guess I am currently running at 3-4.
- There aren't enough games running to 3 table 2/4. I know that some game run at FT. I am going to check them out when I am back home and have a 16x12 screen so I don't have to worry about resizing.
- I am not currently good enough to 3 table, 2 is my max. However, during each session the decision become more automatic and I find myself with more and more "free" time. Playin 3 tables would cut down on my reads so it would hurt my BB / 100 but I think it would increase my overall hourly wage.

Man I wish more people would pick up this game so there were more tables running.

A few places I think I need to improve
- I am playing too aggressively. I keep seeing bad players and try to isolate them with every hand. 246 is not a great raising hand even IP.
- I am still not sure how to play the river, esp when I have a weak pat hand. It seems like I bleed chips by making the value calls because so few players bluff the river but my odds are so good that I don't have to catch them very often. I need to take more notes on my opponent so I know how the play the river.

My favorite plays so far:
- CR when hitting on the second draw
- Value betting when hitting on the river with bad 8s and even good 9s
- Foiling peoples CRs. They are sooooo easy to sniff out that it makes me laugh. I raise with 237 and get called by someone OOP who draws one. I improve to a smooth 7 draw so I bet and get flat called. The moron boy stands pat and checks to me. How often does he really expect me to bet there?
- Checking behind on the river with weak hand that I made on an earlier street. I make a good 9 on the second draw, and my opponent drew one so I bet. I stand pat on 3 and he draws one and checks to me, I check behind and he shows 23457, nice CR buddy (see above bullet).
- Betting the 2nd to draw to know if I need to break. IP I love betting the turn with a weak made hand with a redraw. If they are drawing it is a good value bet and may give me a free river. If they hit they will CR and I will know to break. This is esp fun when I hit after breaking because I generally get at least 2 bets and make someone tilt.

I would say that the 2-7TD experiment was extremely successful. I am having a ton of fun, I am enjoying the challenge of a new game, and I have discovered that in some ways I like playing limit *gasp*. We will see how I feel when I get home and play some PLO8. I realized that I really didn't enjoying playing the last little bit before vacation so If when I get back I am still not enjoying PLO8 I may try to make a run to 5/10 or even high at this game. Also I may go back and playing some more HE.

Meh. I guess it was bound to happen but I had my first really ugly session playing 2-7 TD. I played 120 hands of 2/4 and won a total of 6. Of the six that I won 2 were blinds steals, another 2 were < 3BB pots, and 2 were reasonable sized. In this session I made
2 7s - 1 got beat by a better 7, and one I didn't get so showdown (folded on 2nd draw)
3 nut 8's - All got beat by 7's
4 other non 7 8s - All but one got beat
3 78s - All got beat

During the entire session I never won a hand with anything > 68. I never once drew a J and someone paired or drew a K. I think the worst part of that session is it put me on semi-tilt, which made me play worse. It wasn't full blow tilt where I think my T is a raising hand, it was a smaller -EV semi-tilt, but tilt non the less. It has been a while since that has happened to me.

-137 in 1.5 hours. It was fugly.

27td variance is wicked... get used to it.

anyway, you seem toe be thinking about the game well, so i'm sure the rollercoaster will go back up soon.
