Yeah well, I pretty much envisioned my evening of playing pool would be like that video that MVP posted on the previous page. Of course it wasn't. Like...uhm...NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE VIDEO.

@#$%^.

BEAT:

The girl called 1/2 hour before we were supposed to meet up and said she had to do her laundry and stuff. If she didn't want to go why didn't she just say no in the beginning? God I am no good at women.

BRAG:

I made a comeback after getting pissed off/drunk and donking away 3 buyins.

So instead of doing that thing where you grope a girl from behind whilst "teaching her how to shoot pool", I sat around my apartment. I left for 1 hour today, just to walk over to this cheap indian food place Naan and Curry, for my one meal of the day. OH WAIT I HAVE CHEESE NIPS IN MY CAR!!! (1 dollar per box at SAFEWAY) Sweet now I dont have to go to bed hungry. Cheese Nips (knockoff/2nd rate cheez-itz with funky aftertaste) and a banana MMMMM that will go well with samosas and chana masala.

Oh and I've been practicing my settlers game, that shit is fun I'm gonna play a game before I go to bed. Eating cheese nips and playing video games alone in my apartment...my mother would be so proud if she ever knew. AND NO "I WILL TELL YOUR MOM WHAT YOU WERE DOING WHEN IM #$%^@#$^#$ HER" JOKES PLS.

(After reading this post I guess I wouldn't go out with me either. But she didn't know any of this stuff yet. Oh well...)

Well thanks for comparing me to a bunch of people I...well I dunno if admire is the right word...but appreciate in different ways:

MVP - Lives the dream. Makes $6/hr playing poker but $2345982/hr in free-drink-equity. It sounds like he is also taking a census of all the hookers in Las Vegas. Hopefully he will have them all rated so I can pick a good one when I head down there. A buddy of mine owes me a hooker, as a result of a bowling wager.

MK - Funniest poster on this site. Apparently makes his fortune losing stack after stack playing limit poker, but getting 9,000% rakeback. He also seems to have a very complicated/intense relationship with MVP although he says they have never met. Maybe never with the lights on...I don't know...

Xas - Makes me feel good about how slick I am interacting with women. And how manly my toothpaste is. And I don't feel scrawny when I see pictures of him. Also, I enjoy reading about the $$$ pace he is on for the year. Especially when its like 450K. What is yer current pace Xas? If I play well I may have a $1000 month...

Piers - Wise man of the forum. If I have any serious question, you better believe I'm not asking my parents or friends or fvckin' MK, I'm asking Piers. Or Piers twin/alterego Cactus Jack.

Poker-wise I had a grueling day. Bad beat after bad beat after bad beat after bad beat. I pretty much had to stay up all night to turn a profit. But I stuck with it and didn't tilt too bad. I am definitely fucked for work tomorrow, BUT if there was time to sleep tonight, I could sleep happy.

I put in a ton of hands, prolly around 3k four tabling tribeca (which takes forever). I won at about 10ptbb/100 for a 90 dollar victory, one of my best days. And I got a ton of Goddam Action Points.

Bankroll = $510

February = $471

G.A.P. = 79,875

If Doyle's closes to American players before I get my bonus money, I may have to choke a hoe.

OK I guess I'm gonna try and take a nap before I go to work.

Well, played a few hundred hands today. Lost a couple nice pots to 2-3 outers. Tried that limp/push thing with AK vs. a half stack. He called with AQ and it actually held up, so that was cool. I was of terrified of course, this is the quintessential Tribeca Coinflip. I lost another T.C. - QQ vs. AQ.

Anyway. I lost about 30 bucks when I sat down but ended up the session up $10 overall.

Bankroll = $520

February = $481

G.A.P. = 81,115

And since everyone keeps posting cool pics in their journals, I'm gonna stick a couple ones that I like in here. Remind me that I used to do stuff before poker (BP) This trip was from the year 2BP (end of 2005 in the "standard" calendar)

This is me on the dinner ledge on Washington Column in Yosemite Valley. I had to carry this beer up like 600 feet of talus and then haul it up another 500 feet of climbing.

Image

This is the chunk 'o' rock we climbered on up. It took us 3 days, cos we're slow.

Image

This is me relaxing about 6 pitches up (~700'). Aid climbing is a lot like poker. Hours of boredom followed by moments of terror. But it also has grueling physical labor and crappin' in pvc pipes goin for it, which is nice. And you might die.

Great pics, Oatmeal - reminds me of when I went to Yosemite. Shame about the beer though - seriously, what's with the Bud? I mean, I know getting pissed out of your brains up there might not be the best move, but still... UGH.

The limp/push AK from UTG move is good for 6 max I think, and solves a lot of the problems with putting money in OOP when you're a dog to hit the flop - remember to play some other hands the same way though eg AA/KK. It does work pretty well at Tribeca, where idiots will often raise and call when you've got them dominated.

So, I just played poker for like uhm 8 hours in a row, in an attempt to get unstuck.

I am unstuck, and going to bed now.

There was a plethora of ridiculosity happening tonight. I really gotta post some hands to get my game right. I have been taking big downswings and really battling to get back to even. I ended the day up 8 dollars, so I made about a dollar an hour.

Bankroll = $539

February = $500

G.A.P. = 87,180

I'm going to fuckin bed, this was a ridiculous session. Just grueling.

Finally didn't get too many terrible beats in a session. Ended up winning $67 at a nice clip of 27 ptbb/100.

Bankroll = $626

February = $567

G.A.P. = 88,521 Holy crap I'm more than half way done with this stupid bonus.

I'm playing with $40 dollar buyins at the .10/.20 tables right now, 4 tabling. That's not that sketchy for a TAG player at this donktastic limit is it? I only have like 15 buyins, but I would have to run terrible to lose more than 3 buyins at this limit. I figure I can just move back to $25 buyins if the bankroll drops below 500.

Oh another question - I'm trying to make a panorma image of about 20 pictures I took of the owens valley (). I was wondering if any of youall have a program that can stick em all together? I tried a couple different ones, and they either sucked or my computer was too old and lame to make 'em go. If this is easy for someone to do, that would be cool.

Gotta keep mizing this bankroll up so I can get a new computer too.

Must...get...to...100NL

(gotta get to 50NL first though...DAMMIT)

Well, my predictions were correct, and Doyle's Room is closing to American players about 10-20 days before I would clear my $550 bonus at standard playing levels. This leaves me with the question of whether I should try and play night and day in the next 9 days to clear this bonus. I would have to play about 90-100 hours to make it happen at my current bankroll/limit. Guess I will try to stay up as late as possible and see how I feel tomorrow night.

How the hell are you going to fit 10-11 hours/day of poker in around working and sleeping without going insane or tilting/donking off more $ than the bonus is worth?

How about throwing a work sicky for a couple of days?
