better hope he doesn't have a J or pocket pair (both likely limping hands (i.e J-T or 7-7) that would call a preflop raise) or your in a world of hurt!

I don't get the push - it's still early, the blinds are small and most of your stack should still be in place - in other words you have very little reason to push this hand! Pushing on the flop with just 2 overcards gives you about 24% chance of catching either an ace or king. I would say your fold equity is pretty high since this is your first raise preflop and you used a check-raise but only IF MP missed the flop and figures u for a pair better than jacks - mighty risky' IF'.

I probably would have C-bet the flop rather than ck-r to take away the bluff from MP. If he re-raised I would have reason to believe he doesn't buy me having a hand and he's trying to get me to believe he does!! If you wanted to push a re-raise, I believe you would have the maxium fold equity having preflop raised and leading out on the flop since he doesn't have info that you don't have Aces, Kings or Queens in the hole and seem to be willing to put all your chips in the pot - more believable than ck-raise imo. But most of the time if the flop missed MP, he'll fold to a C-bet even with a pp up to TT rather than risk all or most of his chips against a rock.

With the read given I don't think this play is that bad. He folds a majority of the time and you're up to 3k or so in chips, and when he does call with a J or something like 99/TT (which is possible imo) you can still catch up. Your play isn't spewing, but it's certainly not standard, even with this read.
