This is my fifth hand at a $2/$4 Hold'em table on Pokerstars. The table is pretty tight so far, but a couple of calling stations have notes.

I'm UTG with AA and open-raise. It folds around to the SB who calls, the BB folds. The flop is 24Q rainbow and SB leads out, I raise and he calls. The turn is a king and the SB checks. I bet and now SB raises.

What would you do here?

]We capped it on the turn and I called one more bet on the river. He showed me 22 for bottom set.

I think I'd probably call the check-raise and call down the river...the SB's play really looks to me like he caught two pair with that king, though that turned out not to be the case.

I look at it this way; if I 3-bet and I'm behind, I lose 2 extra big bets. If I 3-bet and I'm ahead, I gain one big bet if the SB has a decent enough hand to call me down with. So on the surface, you need to be 66% sure that you're good, which I wouldn't be. But furthermore, say the SB is trying to bluff you off...not too likely, but he might've put you an AQ after your flop raise, and is trying to scare you off with the king. If this is the case, he folds to your 3-bet, whereas you calling down might gain an extra bet if he takes one more stab at the river.

There's definitely some opponents against whom a 3-bet is in order here, but without any more info, I think calling down is the general move.

I'd fear two pair and just call it down.

The check-raise definitely represents two-pair, but since it was heads-up, it could have also very easily represented a slow-played set, which is what you ran into... Course, I think I would have been much more inclined to think he had KQ - I'm not sure what SB was doing playing 22 for a raise heads-up. Hope you made some money off of him.
