Does anyone read anything into the speed that people go all in or raise?

I've read elsewhere that a bad player that thinks a while then reraises has a big hand but my experience differs, they tend to be semi or total bluffs.

What about a fast all in after your pot size bet? Do you read that as strong or weak?

What about when you play? If I've got the nuts and someone bets, I sometimes run the clock all the way then go all in, trying to look unsure. More often than not it gets a call because they believe my indecision is genuine. Cue me ROFL. Anyone else do this? It's so much fun getting called like that.

I wouldn't spend too much energy trying to read tells into the speed of an online player. A delayed all-in call could mean anything from indecision to a lag in his connection to we had to wait for him to finish taking a leak or making his sandwich.

Well I do think that there are times that speed can be used as a tell, I don't think that it can be ised too often. For example I often play 3 tables at time, and so the times before I make a move can vary just based on that. Also a lot of people are watching TV, surfing the net etc. and are just not paying attention. I would suggest that if you see somebody time out and make a strong move, or a bluff, make a note on that individual player, and if you see him do it again, it may be something that he uses often, and can be used against him in the future.

Don, preflop, sure go ahead and check the fold button if you know you're not playing, don't hold the table up...but if you've run a bluff and get called you might hesitate awhile to let them not think you were just bluffing.

I believe it's about efficiency...i still play mostly for the fun and not about money...that's to say, if i were only trying to grind out a living or support myself, then yes, i'd play 4 games at once and wouldn't concern myself with online tells...just a rough guess, say you can make $10 an hour not paying attention to tells, but i'd say you could make $12 an hour PAYING attention playing just one table....but if you're playing 4 tables, you can make the the $40 an hour...so $40 and hr vs $12 an hr - no brainer...

I'm mainly talking about FAST tells, not slow ones...fast checks or fast all ins...and sometimes fast bet the pot or fast raises.
