After watching MK for several hundred hands I have dubbed his favorite move after him. And what is that move you might ask. The Flop Check Raise. One of the more powerful tools in your limit holdem arsenal when playing against 1 or 2 opponents and you are out of position as by damn the last person to act if checked to usually just can't resist the urge to throw out that bet whether they hold a hand or not and to counter that whip out the old CR on their ass whether you hold a hand or not depending on the likelihood that the board hit them. Case in point:
Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed)
Preflop: Hero is BB with , .
4 folds, MP2 calls, 4 folds, Hero checks.
Flop: (2.40 SB) , , (2 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls.
Turn: (3.20 BB) (2 players)
Hero bets, MP2 folds.
Final Pot: 4.20 BB
Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins 4.20 BB.
Not a big pot but most people in this scenario just fold up on the flop which isn't too scary, a low rainbow board. An extra 1.5 BB over a few hands like this every evening start to add up and also puts a little bit of fright into your more aware opponents so that they aren't as likely to fire into you after a check thus buying you free cards at times. The flop CR, don't leave home without it.
