I dont know what the deal is for me. I know I won a jackpot and before I even start this post I know MVP is going to say something along the lines of "Well isnt it wasy to whine after you win 10k." Yes the jackpot was nice, but I am starting to get the feeling like I dont even know how to win at poker. I am on a huge poker losing streak and its really frustrating.

The good news is I flopped 4 sets today, the bad news is I flopped 4 sets today.

Good one first. I look down at QQ, really bad lag raise to $15, I reraise to $60, he calls. Flop is Q22, he cheks I check. Turn is middle card he bets $50 leaving him $50. river is a T, he pushs AJ I call he was drawing dead on the turn.

Hand2 : I limp in a straddle pot with 99. Flop is 972r. I check hoping to CR, it checks around. Turn 2h making 2 hearts on the board. UTG bets $30, I raise to $75 he calls. River 5 he checks, I bet $100 he shows 78h and folds.

Hand 3: I make it $20 to go with KK flop is 88Tr checks to me I bet $30, rock calls. Grrrrrr. Turn is a 3, check check. River is a 5. He checks, I bet out $50 he mins to $100. I ask him if he flopped tens full. He thought I called and turns over his hand. . We played donkey.

Hand 4: I get QQ utf. I raise to $18, old man reraises to $50. I know I;m behind, I call for set value, flop is 732. I check and fold to his $50 bet. I show my hand and he shows KK.

Somewhere in between here I went and played 2/2 $100 max with devbet and another buddy. Terrible players but I pretty much just watched and couldn't make a hand. I bled off $100 waiting to make a hand that never came. Devbert has a decent winner and they left and I went back to 2/3

Hand 5:I call a raise with 55. Flop is 995, dude bets out $20, I jsut smooth call with 3 people behind me praying someone has a 9. Everyone else folds turn is a 6. Dude bets $30. I raise to $75. He pushs for $80 more with of course 66.

Hand 6: Same moron from hand 5. I call his $18 raise with AK flop is 752. Checks around turn T. Donkey bets outs, donk #2 calls I fold. Yeah of course AT vs KT, why should I win when I call a raise and have both morons dominated.

Seriously I don't know what it takes to win at poker anymore. I flop boats and cant win. I can call all the other players hands and it does me no good when I cant make a hand. I just want to go back to winning at poker, if not I'm going to just sit on my jackpot winnings til I graduate and get a real job.

Rhound, I'd be the last person you should get advice from, but I've been there too often to not comment.

Somehow, the only way you can overcome these stretches is to think, "Did I make a good decision?" If you did, and can't think of any other way you'd have been better off with a different line or you missed something, then let it go. Poker happens. All the time. If the fish didn't occasionally eat, we'd all starve.

Someone should write a book. "When Bad Things Happen to Good Players." You're just running bad, and it will turn around. It always does.

You're good. I wish I were as good. Imagine what it's like for someone like me when they're running bad like this. Brutal.

I was checking the big losers in my past 66K hands played and i found that i had lostabout 12BIs with weakhands pushed/called, tilt and thin situations. That seems is too much but only 1ptbb/100. I also realized that I had been in aset over set situation 14times (not sure but something like that). I am very sure I wasnt in half those situations with the bigger set.

I can tell you calling forset value with small pairs is still +EV. I am making some oney with those plays and, in general, with small pocket pairs. Since people is so aggro nowadays I think you need to be willing to put some raises on flop from time to time when youmissed the set. I am doing it and it works alot of the times.

I M, LIKE YOURSELF, trying to find that little extra EV and my confidence is nonexistent atm. Ihave found something that is costing me probably a few PTbb/100 and that is I am being too aggressive and people are floatingme too damned often. Of course, when i play back at them they show me the mortal nuts.

I'll stay playing 3-4tables because I feel I am playing much better. The results are exactly the same though. Yesterday I lost 5BIs and today in ashort session I lost $38. In one ofmy tables I had been limp/pushing AK in EP and have got it lots of times. I was waiting or AA/KK to do it because it was likely i was going to be called. I see KK UTG and limp, the guy to my next raises to $3.One caller in the CO. I had pushed three times after hisraised and pushed for the fourth time. He thought for a while and called with AQ. Ofcourse, he turned an A. Lost $31 in that hand. I wish i find the way to Sklanskyville...

CJ, the next level of trouble is when the answer to "Did I make the rightplay?" is yes, I did. At that point you just dont know wtf is that EV. What am i doing wrong because obviously (200K hands after) there is something terribly wrong in my play? You keeplooking and and studyng and you see the most money you are losing is in +EV plays. Probably +EV in your mind. At this point you are in trouble, and it seems there is no way out.
