I'm going on vacation to Provence in south france in not too long and wondered if anyone had been at the Monte Carlo casino in Monaco or any of the others around? like Nice or Cannes. I did a quick search on the internet and seems to me they only have stud games when it comes to poker. Too bad, I was really looking forward to playing a B&M game for once.

Unfortunatly for you poker is illegal in France !
People here found a way to bypass the law openeing poker rooms as private clubs....
So basically as your a member of the private club you can play poker, inscription is nothing so that everybody can play.
But as far as I know it doesn't exist in Provence.

There are a few clubs in Paris however like ACF (www.aviationclubdefrance.com).

But in Monte Carlo or Nice or Cannes the only thing you'll find is that $^$"r$ré stud poker which has 0 interest !

I know it can be strange that both Deauville and Monaco held two events of the EPT this year, but again it was labeled as a "private" tourney and not open to the public.
That's a kind of poker prohibition like the US had it for alchool in the 30's, it's pretty ridiculous but I hope it will change, because fishes will be more numerous ... !

Ive been to the casino in Monaco. They dont have poker there as Euri said so my post has no relevance other than to brag that Ive been there

I took them for a few $100 too.

I totally forgot I had posted about this in this forum. So I didn't read your replies until now. Thanks for calling them euri, it's good to confirm that they only have stud there becuause if I had been there and discovered that they had hold em and had left my suit at home I would be furious. Yes, they have a very strict dressing policy for the inner part of the casino.

Anyway, I'm leaving for provence in a few hours and man am I looking forward to 2 weeks of sun, wine and 3 course meals every day... hmmmm ... 3 course.

Enough of my dribbling, I'll actually miss poker though. Haven't had time to play alot lately. If anyone read my post about reaching 1k I'm now at 1.6 so it's moving steadily albeit slowly forward.
