Yeah, man.

After cutting down to 4tables I m able to play for many many more hours/sessiod n. I have found myself playing for up to 5hours, smething I could NEVER DO while i was 8tabling. After about 1.5hours i got really really stressed and tired...i think more tired than stressed really.
also think I am playing much better and making fewer mistakes. When I was 8tabling I wasmaking mistakes du to the little time I had to make desicions. Too bad the results are practically the same.

I've also noticed that I havent tilt at any momernt in the past 10-12K hands 4tabling. More than tilt it used to be problems making desicions fast. That is why I dnt do it now. The only form of tilt I am experiencing is cold clling with trouble hands like AJx when I am running cold. Not that I am doing constantly but I have done it a couple times.

I've only been at it for 2 days, but 4 tabling gives me reads that aren't even comparable to the ones I was going on 8 tabling. Saving me a LOT of money in some situations, and letting me absolutely pound weakness in others. I can't get anywhere NEAR the number of hands in/session (I'd be amazed to get 2k in for 5hrs vs 3.6k for 4hrs 8 tabling), but my winrate is very good and it keeps my attention more...also I am more free to play at off-peak hours since I don't need 12 GOOD tables to play 8...I only need 6 to play 4.

I'll lose a LOT from bonus/rb for sure...but we'll see.

edit: There's a lot to be said here about improving my game though, that's much more valuable than the bonus/rb I lose...it won't be long till I'm at 400, IMO.

So, here goes.

March 13

So after the bad day on the 11th, and the recovery on the 12th, today was the worst day so far by FAR. I've had bigger losing days (1200 when I was playing 200NL FR), but today really sucked.

I made some big misreads that cost me big early. One of the REALLY big problems was that I wasn't getting good hands paid off so there was nothing to mitigate the slightly larger-than-normal amount of medium/large losing hands.

-880 in 1800 hands.

March 14

This was an obviously needed day off.

March 15

If I lose this session, the month will start to look quite bad. This was one of the most swingy sessions I've ever been in. I'll include the graph this time. Some super sick beats, some variance plays...things could have gone very good, but I'm glad they didn't go terribe.

March 16

SUPER SUPER SICK

This was when I posted "I hate poker, that is all" or whatever.

I lost 250 with 99 vs TT, he flopped fvcking quads, BET THE WHOLE WAY, I turned my boat, and we got nearly a stack in on the river...I just laughed at that one. The sickest part was this was just after I had grinded back to even.

Mostly bad beats again. and once again NOT getting paid on my big hands. This session was really the LAST STRAW for how I was doing things. I felt like my reads weren't sufficiently good, and I simply couldn't accept going back to 100NL, too much was riding on being successful at 200NL (not like I couldn't live fine at 100NL, but succeeding at 200NL meant a LOT of freedom and tonnes more $$).

So, after yet another disaster session, I decided to go to 4 tables and focus on much better reads.

-690 in 3850 hands.

March 17

First day of 4 tables and I really needed a win. Not to BOOK a win, just to play well and for once to have the doomswitch turned off :P

It went very very well. My table selection skills are being used so that I'm 100% attacking donks and am much more fluid in entering/leaving tables. I try to get at a table with at least 2 donks, or, failing that, position on a truly terrible donk (generally ALL LAGs).

870 hands, +273 for 7.9ptbb/100.

Big hands were getting paid since I have FINALLY also started regularly 3 betting oop with AK and working to isolate the donks in position with stuff like AQ.

I'm never going back to >4 tables. My reads are now superb and I feel that >6ptbb/100 is sustainable for me as long as I'm doing a good job of selecting tables. However, I'm being careful to make sure that I'm not just running hot.

540 hands, +322 for 14.9ptbb/100. I prolly should've had a longer session, but I felt my heater was over and the donks were adjusting to my pounding. I have to reconsider what I do in situations like this.

I've noticed a MARKED increase in my aggression numbers. My turn and especially RIVER aggression numbers are almost double. In this short session, my river agr was infinity...this means I'm either stealing pots on the river when I read weakness (I AM doing this)...and/or I'm making much better river value bets when I'd normally be checking since I'd have an insufficient read to know whether it was right to value bet.

Image

edit: looking over the hands, I found it interesting that I didn't win a single pot where I made >90, I just had a lot of medium pots that I won, and no medium/large ones that I lost...just solid poker attacking donks.

March 19 (today)

It's 100% official, I'm never ever ever going back to 5+ tables. I'm on my way to being convinced that I'm not merely running hot...my play is miles better, I'm able to open up my game (I ran 19/12/2.6 today...usually I'm 14/9/2.2) since I have a better idea of where people are, so I can really exploit them like never before.

I stacked off early with a turned TP+FD and that kinda sucked, but I don't think it was a TERRIBLE play...I think it wasn't nec. right, but it wasn't horrible.

I got in a LOT of trouble with AK today...-350, a LOT of 3 betting agro LAGs that just didn't work out.

I'll post hands later.
