CJ dood you need to relax, people aren't being mean to you they are disagreeing with you its different. I personally think you are completely wrong about the CR. To say that something has limited value just because it doesn't work well against a specific opponent (you) in a specific low limit game is a really narrow view. The 1/2 NL game is Vegas is about as simple ABC poker as it gets. When Devin and I played at South Point together I knew what everyone had a 90% of the time. People in these games have very little imagination, they very rarely get past the first level of logic, the what do I have in my hand level. When someone CR you yes they usually do have the hand they represent, but there are many games that play much different than an ABC low limit NL game. Also I use the CR really effectively vs very bad loose players, for some reason these players seems to think you must be stealing from them when you CR and rarely give you credit for a big hand.
The style of poker you are talking about is pretty much pure rock. You don't play anything but monster hands, playing against tourists at low limit NL games you absolutely can grind out a profit. You are playing in some of the softest games in the US. The reason that other people dont like the idea is it has so little imagination and very little chance to allow you to move up and be successful much past 1/2. I don't see why this is your goal? You play enough poker that with time and work you should be able to improve your overall game not just sit back and wait for a monster. If you learn to play poker instead of just playing your cards and can learn how to make borderline decisions your win rate will be much larger.
The stuff you said about the Xaston hand, you need to realize that different poker games play different ways. The style you play is a specific type of play for a specific game. Saying Xaston is not a thinking player because of this hand simply reeks of ignorance. Before you judge someones play you need to understand the game they play and from your comments its seems that you dont really understand game theory of a game with good thinking players. Your current style would never work in a 2/4 online game. You would almost never get action because you are so tight when you made your big hands people would run like hell as soon as you made a sizeable bet or called a sizeable bet and you would spenf the rest of the time blinding off into oblivion. Xaston himself said he didnt like the way the hand played, but it was 12er image that got him paid off not just some super moronic brain fart by Xaston. The fact that 12er is also capable of making this play as a bluff since he knows it looks strong to someone like Xaston that pays attention, also means that Xaston knows it could be a stone bluff too. If this had was played against your rock style Xaston would probably CB the flop and check fold as soon as you called a single bet. A rock would never be in this hand with anything short of trips and a rock would never CR all in on this river as a bluff.
Lastly a bunch of stuff you said didn't make any sense to me. You made it sound like you get paid off because of your table image. You are a rock and if anyone is paying attention which at 1/2 almost no one is, how does that help you get paid off? Also you said you don't get to aggressive with 2 pair but you are talking about calling in postion with SC, this seems weird to me. SC play well if you are good at playing draws and sneaky 2 pair kind of hands. How do you play a hand like this?
You call a $10 raise with
4 way flop. Flop is
. PFR bets $20 and player in between calls. Its to you on the button, now what?
You need to relax, changing journal tittles is a joke, the perpetrator has done it to half the journals at BTP. I have "flossed with used jenny craig G-string" and now I am "more flaming than sigfried and Roy." Its a joke take it that way.
