In the ist f the top winners in 2/4NL i cant remember seeing that many lags. In fact, i dont remember any. sLAGs at the most and not most of them. 22/18 is not LAG. I do remember a coule nits making a very good bank in lots of hands.

6max nits are <15...TAG is 16-22, sLAG is 23-28, and LAG is >28...IMHO.

Yuck: An Update

I started running pretty bad and then the internet in my apartment died for a few days and when I came back I ran bad some more. Yuck. My excellent month turned into an OK month in a hurry.

Today Alotofaction was playing and I hopped on a bunch of tables with him. At one table I raised and at another he raised. I 3 bet him and he 3 bet me. He folded to my 3 bet and I 4 bet over his 3 bet and he folded. Then he said this:

Alotofaction: wow xaston
Alotofaction: i hate you

Then he sat out on all my tables. I joined him at another table and the following conversation followed:

Alotofaction: Xaston why dont u go play 3/6
Alotofaction: or something liek that
Alotofaction: you took all my monies
Alotofaction: according to my poker tracker

At this point I mentioned some thing about me knowing he wins a lot and still has plenty of money

Alotofaction: yes but you are the rake
Alotofaction: i gotta pay the Xaston Tax for playing 2/4

Then he left

I hope he doesn't start to sit out/leave regularly whenever I join his tables.

If I can do well there, we'll head to Vegas shortly thereafter where I will play in the $5k 6 handed WSOP event and the WSOP ME. Also, lots of like 5/10 cash. If I don't do well at the Heartland Poker Tour I will probably just come home and try and grind out like $8kish real quick online and then head to the WSOP for the ME.

I have played 3, 2 day live events so far in my career. The first one was in August of last year (I stunk then). The next one was ummm I dunno earlier this year, the one where Adam Jungelen pwned me. Anyway I made day 2 of that and cashed. Then I played the Mega Stack Challenge earlier this month. I made day 2 of that as well and cashed. Also, I got busted in both of em by getting it all in pre flop with a slight edge. Only one of them would have given me a good stack though, the other one would have made me only slightly above average.

For some reason, when I play big live tournaments I am able to hyper focus in a way I can't really do for online tournaments or cash games (live or online). Throw in deepstacked, and I like my chances.

I think you should play hard HU for buy ins. Best way to get in cheap.
