Hmmm...maybe this wont work and I'll go back into retirement. Who knows.
My 1st 2 hands this afternoon.
#1) EP raises $3.50, button reraises to $12. I shove in the BB with QQ. EP folds and button has JJ. I lose.
#2) Button opens to $3.50. I shove in the SB with 99. BB has AA. I lose again.
I got all in with AJ vs KK and then raised AJ..got called and I pushed a Jxx flop. That guy had KK also.
Im still having people make donk plays against me so you would think this strategy would work. Maybe it will maybe it wont. I cant decide now.
Example of donkishness...
I raise to $4 with JJ and both blinds call.
Flop is 744. They check and I bet $8. They both call.
Turn is a 5. SB checks, BB goes all in and had both of us covered. I call. SB folds. BB has A8.
I have Q9 in the SB. Its me, the BB and UTG in the hand.
Flop is QT5. I check, BB checks, UTG bets pot. We both call.
Turn J. I open shove. BB folds and UTG calls with K3.
Ive been all in as the favorite 62.5% of the time which is below my goal but should still win...maybe not more than my current 2.4 PTBB win rate though. Not sure.
Im on a 17.5 short stack buy in losing streak.
I ran into 3 sets today.
TPTK vs an overpair twice
Got 3 outted on the turn twice
All in 3 times with higher pocket pairs and lost 2 of them
The list goes on.....hopefully its just all bad luck. I can only find a couple mistakes, but maybe theres no way to stay ahead of the blinds. We'll see in the next couple 1000 hands I guess.
I estimate that instead of the $190 I lost today, I wouldve lost about $600 if I was playing full stacked. A 6 buy in day at $100NL for a veteran player like myself = hellaciously bad luck. I hope thats all this is otherwise I will go back into retirement. I am having fun researching this strategy though.
