Another frustrating day -- played about 800 hands of $1/2 at Stars, ended down $20. I was at a table with 50% VP$IP and was down $10. God that's annoying.

On the plus side, I hacked on the AutoHotkey script so that it's much better now. The one I got off the net didn't use the checkboxes, so you basically couldn't do anything until the buttons showed up, which was hectic if they all showed up at the same time. Also I made it so that you don't screw up if another window becomes active while you're trying to do something. I'll post it in the software section.

Back to InterPoker for their monthly bonus. Had AA and KK cracked early, but won a huge pot with 33. Ended up about $19.

Hacked a bit more on the AutoHotkey script, adapted it to Crypto and Party.

Played a bunch of $1/2 at crypto -- the hotkey script is pretty awesome for multitabling. If you're in the middle of a hand at one table and you have to fold some trash at another table, it's just two key presses and it's done.

I played well but ended down $8. One memorable hand:

Folds to me in the cutoff with 88. I raise, BB calls. Flop comes 567, two spades. BB checks, I bet, BB check-raises, I reraise, BB calls.

Turn comes offsuit Q. BB checks, I bet, BB calls.

River offsuit 2. BB checks, I bet, BB calls. BB shows KQo and takes the pot.

Started out way too aggressive today and got absolutely clobbered by a maniac -- he always had just enough to beat me, or my AK/AQ/AJ didn't hit and he bet me out of the pot. I was down $90 at one point, but then I got ahold of myself and tightened up a bit and things started going right. My image helped a bit too when my bigger hands started holding up. I ended down $10 on the session, more than halfway to the bonus.

Being too aggressive at the beginning of a session might be a leak of mine. I'm going to look into mining some data out of PT to see if I can figure it out.

The hotkey script is working so well with 4 tables I might try 5 or 6.

This was my favorite hand of the session -- I love it when the 'check to induce a bluff' play works:

Man I absolutely pwned today at crypto -- the cards and the flops were hitting me in the face, and I played them like a champ. Made some good laydowns when I needed to. I played some $2/4 early on when there were big waiting lists for the $1/2, and that ended up being the best table VP$IP-wise. I hit a set early on, and another guy decided to get aggressive after I boated up on the turn, which is always nice. I also found a great $1/2 shorthanded table where everyone was loose and ultra passive. I was up $130 on the day, and cleared the bonus to boot. :D

I played much more solid today from the get-go, which at a typical crypto table means tighter than usual, but raising more hands, especially in early and middle position.

This hand pretty much sums up how things went:

Seat 1: Monroe22 ($69.50 in chips)
Seat 2: Royals85 ($100.75 in chips)

Party and crypto are night and day. I officially moved up to the $2/4, as the BR is up to about $1450 now, and man Party has some crazy players. I ended up even after 350 hands, mostly because some big pairs didn't hold up to the action. This one hurt the most:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [Ah], [Ac].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 2 folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (11.50 SB) [Jh], [2s], [7s] (5 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets, MP3 raises, Hero 3-bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (10.25 BB) [9s] (3 players)
MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

River: (16.25 BB) [8s] (3 players)
MP2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero calls, MP2 calls.

Final Pot: 19.25 BB

Results in white below:
MP2 has Jd Ks (flush, king high).
MP3 has Jc Qs (flush, queen high).
Hero has Ah Ac (one pair, aces).
Outcome: MP2 wins 19.25 BB.

Well the day started out pretty shitty, as I dropped $70 at party $2/4 (making me -$110 chasing the bonus) and then went out of the BTP tourney on, oh, about the 10th hand or so. Monk limped in the SB with 64o, I had A4o in the BB, and the poker gods decided to play a little joke and flopped 235.

So I was pretty much hating poker at that point, and the smart thing to do would have been to take a break for the rest of the day, but luckily I'm not that bright and went on a $130 tear at the $2/4. It's amazing how smart you feel when your draws are actually hitting and most of your big pairs hold up.

Cleared the bonus, up $20 on my play at a blistering 0.4BB/100 pace. I think I'll spend the rest of the month at Party's $2/4.

Down $60 at the party $2/4. Just a bunch of brutal suckouts. Party's $2/4 so far has been way looser than the $1/2, but I just cannot get a hand to hold up in a big pot.

1. I am UTG+2 with AA. UTG raises and I reraise. 3 callers and UTG calls. Flop comes [9h][7c][2h]. UTG bets, I raise, 1 caller sticks around, UTG reraises and I cap. Turn is a blank, UTG checks, I bet, caller is all in, UTG calls. River is a heart. UTG checks, I bet, UTG raises and shows down [7h][6h].

2. I'm in the BB with A6o. One limper and the SB completes. Flop is AT3 rainbow. I check, limper bets, SB calls, I raise, both call. Turn is another A. I bet, limper folds, SB calls. River is an 8 putting a backdoor flush on board. SB checks, I bet, SB raises and shows down 88.

3. I'm in the BB with with AQo. Folds to button who raises. SB and I both call. Flop brings AXX. SB checks and I check, going for the check raise, but the button checks. Turn is a 6. SB checks, I bet, button calls, SB folds. River is a 6. I bet, button raises, shows [5h][6h].

I had some nice isolation plays on one table against a really loose fish. Would have been a lot worse without his donations. I'm playing pretty well, but I seem to just be getting killed on the river -- hopefully things will go the other way soon.

Up $39 today -- finally took down a few large pots. I was down $60 early on, but things came together late in the session. $2/4 is a huge roller coaster so far.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with [Ad], [Ah].
UTG calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 5 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls, BB folds, UTG calls.

Flop: (14 SB) [8h], [8d], [8s] (3 players)
SB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, SB calls, UTG 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls, UTG calls.

Probably should have smooth called the 3rd bet and raised the turn. Sometimes when I have a huge hand my finger gets stuck on the raise button and I don't stop and think about maximizing it.

Turn: (13 BB) [9h] (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB calls, UTG calls.

River: (16 BB) [2s] (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB folds, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 18 BB

Results:
UTG has Kc Kd (full house, eights full of kings).
Hero has Ad Ah (full house, eights full of aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 18 BB.

On this next one, I noticed that my VPIP/PFR was 12/2 at this table, so I figured I'd take advantage of my image and position on a loose limper, but it didn't quite work out as expected.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Ts], [9s].
5 folds, MP3 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (10 SB) [7d], [Js], [3h] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP3 bets, Hero calls, Button calls, SB raises, BB folds, MP3 calls, Hero calls, Button folds.

Turn: (8.50 BB) [Qs] (3 players) Woohoo, open ended straight flush draw!
SB bets, MP3 folds, Hero calls.

River: (10.50 BB) [6s] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

Final Pot: 14.50 BB

Results:
SB has 3s 3c (three of a kind, threes).
Hero has Ts 9s (flush, queen high).
Outcome: Hero wins 14.50 BB.

Most of my time at Party's $2/4 has been spent wondering if I can even beat the game. Seems like I start out with some pots like these every day, and then struggle to make it back to a profit:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [5h], [5d].
UTG raises, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, BB calls.

Flop: (12 SB) [5c], [6d], [6c] (6 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, CO calls.

Turn: (10 BB) [Js] (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, UTG+2 folds, CO folds, Hero 3-bets, UTG caps, Hero calls.

River: (18 BB) [8d] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 22 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has 5h 5d (full house, fives full of sixes).
UTG has Jd Jh (full house, jacks full of sixes).
Outcome: UTG wins 22 BB.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Kc], [Ks].
UTG calls, Hero raises, 6 folds, BB calls, UTG folds.

Flop: (5.50 SB) [5d], [Ts], [6c] (2 players)

Turn: (3.75 BB) [Qs] (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.

River: (7.75 BB) [2h] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 9.75 BB

Results in white below:
BB has 6d Td (two pair, tens and sixes).
Hero has Kc Ks (one pair, kings).
Outcome: BB wins 9.75 BB.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with [Th], [Kh].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 bets, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP3 calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) [8h] (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets, MP3 raises, Hero calls.

River: (8.75 BB) [8s] (2 players)
MP3 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 10.75 BB

Results in white below:
MP3 has 8c 8d (four of a kind, eights).
Hero has Th Kh (two pair, kings and eights).
Outcome: MP3 wins 10.75 BB.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Th], [6c].
3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: (4 SB) [4d], [6h], [4h] (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, SB folds.

Turn: (3.50 BB) [Jd] (3 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

River: (6.50 BB) [2d] (3 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, MP2 calls, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Th 6c (two pair, sixes and fours).
MP1 has 7d Ad (flush, ace high).
MP2 has 8d 3d (flush, jack high).
Outcome: MP1 wins 12.50 BB.

Half an hour later a bunch of my hands have held up, and I've gone from -$90 to +$30.

I need a larger sample size.

still, some of those hands are brutal. Especially the runner runner flush by 2 people.
