Wow its been a long time since I last updated my journal, a fair bit has happened over the last 6 weeks or so, might as well give a bit of an update.

1) I have my bankroll back above $1500 and I am now back playing NL100 on Party
2) I played a fair bit of break-even PL25 Omaha, this has improved my postflop game in NLHE out of sight. Thanks to the guys on the omaha forum for passing on their knowledge of the basics!
3) I am now starting to exploit the "solid abc" type players and tend to win just as much from them as I do from the weaker players
4) I 3bet a LOT preflop, switching gears against specific opponents as soon as I notice them catching on.

I have not played with a poker tracker database or hud for over a month, I think this has helped me realise that playing tight preflop does not make a poker player in its self and such people can still be beaten.

Current Bankroll: $1500

NL100 on Party remains soft, lots of weak/tight players make it very easy to play aggressive winning poker.

I currently lack internet access at home, so no hand history posts for the time being...

I just had a rather interesting hand...

NL100, I have around $250 in chips
I am OTB with [4s], two limpers, I limp since the CO has 150BB and the BB has 200BB

Flop: [Js][3d]

CO leads for pot, I raise x3, he reraises, I call, pot is around $60.

Turn:

CO leads for pot again and has around $50 left behind

I ponder for a while before laying down my nut flush draw + gutshot, CO shows [Ts] and was drawing to 5 outs, does anyone find it within themselves to call/shove that turn? I was putting him on 33 or maybe KJ (since I had been 3 betting him to high hell preflop recently).

Thinking about it later, his bet on the turn was suspiciously large, interesting hand none the less.

I have been playing pretty good in what limited time I have for poker right now, the bankroll continues to grow steadily. Once I hit $3000 I might take a stab at NL200 and see how it plays.

what's the main difference between NL25 and NL50 ?

Depending on sites, competition is usually a bit better. Being beter tighter. You will have fewer players willing to stack off with marginal holdings. You will notice the ifference whn you move up and play for say 10K hands. There are still lenty of donks if you play the proper sites.

The $50NL tables in the cryptos are the toughest i have ever played, and that includes a foray in the 200NL in Ongame. Not really many donks and 100s of very solid regulars. Their weakness is not necesarilly being tight. Way too many good players there.
